Im pretty sure my transmission pan gasket is leaking.....thought it was oil but figured out it was trans fluid.....the underside of the truck at the rear is coated with it.....truck has 191k on it and has never had the pan taken off

Does the pan take fipg (orange) or an actual gasket? Called 2 different dealers and 1 said fipg and 1 said cork gasket.....need some help please....thanks

All you need is the Toyota fipg black sealant. I did mine a few months back and it's still holding strong. Just run a small bead, and don't over tighten the bolts.

So ordered the correct gasket (or so I thought) went to pick it up yesterday and it was a 14 bolt gasket not 19 (what I need)....word to the wise always provide your vin number when ordering parts.....everywhere I looked gave me the gasket part number even when I called the dealership.....I only looked it up by year make model and engine.....so for my vin number it doesn't show a gasket because it uses fipg (orange red stuff for axles and transmissions)
