    Yes, as long as you speak with www.RSGear.com They have done the adapters to the T56 Magnum, and told me it was possible with the regular T56 as well. Just need to speak with them.

    The GMC Syclone "Syborg" is best known for that adaptation.

    So poking at this, t56 wouldnt bolt onto the stock taco tcase so how would u figure you go with that?

    That one member krisxone did that write-up on it. I heard that there were a few others as well to do the same. Just need a steady hand. ;)

    Rockland Standard Gear makes a kit for the Magnum T-56, and told me that they make a kit for the regular T-56 as well, to bolt up an AWD transfer case. It's a driver side output shaft so would need a matching flange and likely have to modify the front drive shaft's length.

    Then you'd have an AWD setup. The specific Borg Warner transfer case is vacuum actuated. No vacuum, always in AWD.

    Hmm so no actual 4x4 just awd
    Like the fj cruiser is awd but goes 4x4 too


    Doing my own homework im wondering with the proper adaptor plate if the stock tcase would bolt right on? I dont know spline counts tho so i dunno

    Some go fast desert guys are running the TH400 auto with some success. It is a very bombproof trans when built right, and the short shaft version will mate to any number of transfer cases. I've been considering this for a while, but figure I'll run this motor until it's toast and do an LS swap.

    The member DoubllD purchased and used that setup. Got a separate controller for shifting gears. Had to do a little notching here and there, but it is all documented in his build thread on XRU.

    so bringing this alive again, i have pooched tranny #2 soooo im done, how are the ratios feel vs what stock was? (ra60 1st gear was 4.171, tranzilla 1st is 2.98 or somthing close)

    There are multiple selections from www.rsgear.com, for the gear ratios. As well as output shaft sizes. The highest 1st gear is the 2.98. Mine is lower, however I do not remember its ratio of the top of my head. If you have larger than stock tires, I'd recommend the 2.98 1st gear. Then use a gear calculator to determine if an eventual ring and pinion upgrade is wanted.

    I have a ~28" overall tire, with a 3.73 rear.

    thats going to CRIPPLE off road performance.... id personally like to have a first in a manual around 5-6:1 but thats just me.

    Nah. Unless you are seriously rock crawling all of the time, low gears suck offroad. It's rare that I need to use 4lo, but LT helps smooth things out a bit too...

    talkd to george down there, and he agrs 2.98 sux for offroad 4x4. he did suggest a 5 spd that has 5.81 for first gear lmao!
