Yep, I consider the Extang, but was sold on the quality and performance of the Retrax Pro, easy install, works with the cleats, locks at any position along the length of the bed, and looks oustanding!:taco:

I wouldn't recommend the JackRabbit; had one and hated it.

I have a Bakflip G2 now and LOVE IT!

    Just my 2 cents.

I had the backflip G2 on the truck from the dealer, very pleased with it. I'm a carpenter so I like the protection to my rear window when fully opened.
I've tucked the tubes away, only did it this weekend, I don't feel they where useful this winter though.
But the part of the year that's not freezing, should work just fine.
Here's a few pics, I'll tell ya later if drainage is a problem but there's no kink in the tube.

We have the F1 on our 15' AC and as nice as it is (best in it's class in my opinion) I would much rather have the Roll-X. I don't like the position of the F1 blocking the rear window when completely open.

Ripper - like the pic (female storm trooper).

FLhighby - have a question about bakflip security. Did you replace the tailgate handle with a key lock mechanism? If do, what did you choose and do you still have rear view mirror camera? Heading to Alaska soon and hope the bakflip can handle the weather. Looking at the fibermax and G2.

JMHO I put an Extang Solid Fold on my DCLB a week after I got it. Also added a POP N Lock that uses existing back up camera. Has bolt codeable lock. This set up worked really well over a Canadian winter so it should be ok for Alaska. Recommend spraying the popnlock with graphite or silicone before you put the tailgate skin back on. Makes the key work smoother.

I can't thank you enough. Do you recall which pop n lock you used? I don't want to lose the backup camera, and plan to buy through auto anything with undercover flex.

I installed Dynolock, it uses the same handle, no touching the camera.
There is no key hole, so I welded my connections to be sure no problems come from there.
If ever the actuator should fail, I'll deal with it then.
But I'm very confident in the product after installation.
I like the mechanism locking the handle directly, not the twist plate.
The actuator is a popnlock, both my cousin's use these in movie props, and they live a hard life. More then my truck will ever put it thru, and I'm in the woods every other weekend.

I carry my tools in there, I feel safe about it. The safest I can be.
Anyone really wanting to get in, will, no matter what !
I do keep a skinny crowbar in the cab, just in case it stops working, I found a way to unlock the back flip without breaking anything !
    Goes to show !

It's not this particular one, but locks the handle in, at the same place

Winter's pretty bad over here, the rubber seals good along the bed sides, keeps the flex rather then breaking witch I was afraid of but they held up fine for 2 winters now.
If you leave the drain tubes hanging down, I find there pretty useless, draining the water in the bed. Instead of dripping of the end of the gutter, water as a slide to go on the bottom of the bed. I've seen some connect both to a T and out the center thru a hole in the floor, but I need that extra inch'ish in the bed, so I went for out the sides

I broke down today and made the buy!
Bought the pop & lock PL 5400 2005-2015 Toyota Tacoma w bolt codeable technology and the Bakflip Fibermax. After weeks of research just felt best about these products.

Interestingly enough after trying to find the best seller (comparing AutoAnything, tonneauxcover.com, 4-wheeler, etc.) I decided to call Bakflip direct. They gave me the best price, walking away with both items for $870 (no tax or shipping). The next best price for the same was AutoAnything at $935. Can't wait to get them, should have by next Tuesday.
