Warn M8000 mounted in a Relentless Fab plate bumper

Has anyone else mounted one in a Relentless plate bumper? I was wondering about options for mounting the solenoid box. Looks like the only option might be in the engine compartment. For those of you who have a relentless bumper already, would therebe enough room to mount the box on top of the bumper like on ARB bumpers?

 

solenoid pack would definitely need to go under the hood somewhere. No room in the bumper, and it's too slim to mount it on top as well.

 

That's what I thought. Probably going to try to mount it somewhere behind the bumper/grill area and the radiator. I'll post a pic once I figure something out and get it mounted. Thanks for the quick response!

 

So I received my bumper and was able to find a pretty easy install for the solenoid. I used the bracket that comes with the winch to mount the control box directly to the winch itself. The only difference being that I mounted the front most bolt of the solenoid box into the rearmost hole on the mounting bracket. I only ended up using one bolt to secure it instead of two as intended but it's pretty solid, not worried about it rattling around. The box isn't exposed to the elements with the exception of the little bit of rain that might come through the grill. It was super easy, I didn't have to buy any extra cables or brackets, and I was able to mount to the bumper before install and slide it right in. I did remove the crossmember that goes behind the grill. With A little trimming I could probably get the crossbar back in there, but it doesn't really seem to matter and I've seen a lot of other guys run set ups without it . Here are couple of pics I'll try to get some better ones once the rain stops here.

 

If anyone was wondering this might’ve worked with the OP’s truck but I’ve got a 1st Gen and it does NOT fit! You’ll need to order a relocation kit for the solenoid pack and likely mount near the passenger wheel well/firewall

 

Relocation of the control pack will be necessary for every winch brand/model when mounting into a 1st gen Tacoma front bumper. Smaller truck, smaller bumper compared to the 05+ Mid-size Tacoma's.

 

Heres the mounting location I used for under the hood. I flattened the WARN mounting bracket and then drilled holes in the corner(s) of the mount near the existing holes so it would match the existing 14mm bolt nearest the open space. There's plenty of room below the top of the fender to bend and route those big solenoid cables too.
