Inks Lake SP: 4th of July Weekend 2014--Now this is a great place to visit and camp, nice big lake, beautiful scenery in the hill country, highly recommend

 

Anybody camp in or around the grand canyon?

 

I'll second that recommendation. It's a constant level lake too.

 

Right up the road from me, I love how the granite is just protruding from the ground up there.

 

Made a quick stop at Inks Lake during my trip, got a few photos around Devils Water Hole, but haven't had a chance to work on those photos yet. Hopefully I'll get to those this week. Cedar Lake at Cleburne State Park should probably be completely full by now with the recent storms in the area, hopefully they've got the storm damage cleaned up, the park website still says that some areas are closed.

 

Mustang Island SP & Padre Island National Seashore: July 2014--Well, Mustang Island is probably the worst SP I've visited to date, very plain, half the sites have the hookups on the wrong side, not on the beach...I would skip this one altogether! Padre Island NS on the other hand is pretty cool. Miles and miles of open beach, camp anywhere on it, a great place to get lost and enjoy the sand, surf and sun!

 

Here's a few more pics when I was vacationing in the Port Aransas area last July 2014. The motorized golf cart was a blast buzzing around town and the beach!
