Rack is GONE! Gave it to a co-worker.

    http://s1150.photobucket.com/user/NatureJunkie12/embed/slideshow/Demello rack for sale

So I am getting rid of the Tacoma for a larger truck and need to pass the Demello expo rack on. It appears that this rack was fabricated at around $1000 to $1200.

The rack is designed for a short bed.

I received the rack for free with the purchase of the toolbox for $100. I had the front of the rack extended 18” to use with the CVT Mt.Hood and clear the ‘Shark Fin’ as well. I will measure the space between the hoops tomorrow. The extension is not cosmetically perfect (grinding job was poor as the fabricator assigned that portion of the job to an apprentice) but very solid. A longer rod was installed and tacked in place then sleeved with the outer 1.75 tube. I (240lbs) have stood on the front basket with no issues. I also had two additional mounting holes drilled. This rack mounts to the Tacoma bed tracks.

I added some tube clamps from Ballistic Fabrication. They were used to hold the Yakima racks for the kayaks.

I supplied all of the mounting hardware utilizing T-slotnuts. This rack does not move at all.

The tool box is the original Toyota. I wire brushed the lid and coated with bed liner. The results are good but not perfect. There are afew spots where the aluminum shows through. Additionally, the PO had drilled four holes in the back of the box tor a mount. I have sealed those with washers, bolts and nuts.

    The extension cost $130.

The hardware about $50 (including T-slot nuts for toolbox).

Four Ballistic Fabrication BRK-1081-3 OD TubeClamp w/ Mounting Tab 1.75" OD $28.

There are 6 D-ring that I had installed at the mounting points. These make great tie downs and will be included.

    The rack could use refinishing.

I would like to recoup a little of my money, but also pass on the great deal I received.

For the rack alone, I would like $100. Includes all mountinghardware and tube clamps.

    With the toolbox, $200.

May consider trades for similar value. A Surefire M962 or similar weapon light and Pelican cases are a couple of interest. Will entertain other items.

I will not sell the toolbox separate unless the rack is already sold.

This is a pick up only sale. I just removed the rack and it is on my patio.

I will take and post more photos tomorrow when it is light. This is the only one I can find for now.

    Thank you,

    Steve

It's not quite what I'm looking for. Wish it was because that's a killer deal

That's how I got the deal on it in the first place. The PO eventually offered it for free as there were no local buyers. It was a two hour drive, but I originally got it to use the base and the steel and have it reworked. As it turned out, I was very impressed with the rack and decided to have it lengthened to suit my needs.
This rack was originally designed and sold to TacoDoc. TacoDoc went with a FlipPac and the second owner switched to a FZJ80.
The basket area fits seven scepter cans.
I should mention that when I was standing on the basket, there were two full Scepter water cans on the basket as well.
Been busy today, but will take pictures of toolbox by tomorrow at the latest.

    Thank you.

    Nice Tacoma!
I'll have to keep my eye open for it on the road.

I thought the rack was spoken for locally but that no longer seems the case. The rack is still available.
Make offer! Any offer! That means FREE!

On a side note, I am keeping the Tacoma!:yay:
So the madness will continue though now I have a Rubicon (the wife's) to drain the account as well.

This rack worked great. Despite the fact I am now keeping the Tacoma, I am going a different route.
