Hello, I am trying the get the bluetooth working on my Pioneer AVH-P3300bt receiver, I was hoping someone on here might be able to help.

I bought my truck with this stereo already installed, but the previous owner said he never used the bluetooth on it. When I tap on the phone icon, it says "Ready" at the top, but all of the menu options are grayed out so I can't change any settings or connect my phone. After a while of the stereo being on and nothing connected, when I tap on the phone again it changes from "ready" to "Error-10" which means the Bluetooth failed to power according to the manual.

I originally thought it has something to do with the parking brake safety wire not being connected, so yesterday I installed a DIYbypass hoping that would solve it. It did make some of the other functions work that weren't previously like DVD playback, but still nothing for the Bluetooth.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks!

might try to see if the firmware can be updated. also try a hard reset by disconnecting the radio for a bit.

I have been searching for a firmware update, but I haven't found one yet for this model except from the Pioneer.eu site which I am nervous about. I will try unplugging it tonight and see if that does anything. The only other thing I could see that might be an issue is that the mic isn't plugged in to the HU for calling but I wouldn't think that would change anything for connecting phones.

The microphone shouldn't matter, I have an older p4400bh that I used a little without the microphone and I could still connect and stream music.

I didn't think so, I was just trying to explore all possibilities. I emailed Pioneer's customer service today and they said I have to take it to a service center because that particular error is hardware related. This model doesn't support audio streaming, it is just voice calling so I am not that concerned about it.

Maybe that's why the first person sold it and said they 'never used BT'.

If you're just trying to pair it with your phone, instead of listening from the stereo for the phone, go the other way. Listen for BT devices from your phone. I just installed a Pioneer, and it seemed to have issues seeing my phone. My phone was able to see the stereo with no issue.
