I have a 2001 double cab that is stock and I'm giving it to my soon to be 16 year old son. Who wants it lifted 3". To do this I need to order 5100 blisteens and I also want replace the struts. Do they make 5100 blisteens that already have the struts on them? Or do I have to order both and either have them done or do them myself. Also what is added in the rear to raise truck? and where is a good place to purchase these items? THanks in advance Rick

Bilstein ride height adjustable shocks on 3" eibach lift coils on 2nd notch and Old Man Emu Dakar leaf packs on rear with bilstein 5125 extended length shocks , 4crawler 1.5" body lift, smittybilt winch, trail gear front bumper, aem cold air intake, Monstalined Entire vehicle in Blood Bath, raptor lined bumpers and mirrors, custom Wabfab high clearance rear bumper, debadged, smoked tail lights, mini d2s retrofits, Rockford Fosgate 4 channel amplifier running sound stream stt 5x6 speakers and pioneer touchscreen head unit
I have a 2002 Tacoma double cab and I have bilstein 5100 shocks up front. With stock coils you can only achieve 2.5" of lift. I have toytec's 3" eibach lift coils on my 5100s set at 0" to achieve 3" of lift in the front and the shocks and coils can be purchased from toyteclifts.com as for the rear the cheapest option would be an add a leaf or a 2" block. I have old man emu Dakar leaf packs in the rear with bilstein 5125 extended length shocks which gave me about 2.5" of lift in the rear. All of these suspension components can be purchased from Toyteclifts.com

Take a look at the Old Man Emu suspension. It will include new front struts/coils, new rear leaf springs, shackles (if you want them). I suggest getting them from Cruiser Outfitters. Very knowledgable and can help you select the right parts, good prices and excellent customer service. That's where I got the suspension for my 2003 double cab. I prefer the Old Man Emu stuff over the Bilsteins and the quality and ride is excellent.

I would recommend the ARB Old Man Emu (often called OME for short) lift options over the bilstein 5100. Both would get a lift but the OME will be much more durable and last longer. Congrats on giving your son the truck, he must be proud!

Also check out Wheeler's Off Road...I just ordered an OME set up from them with the OME Nitrocharger struts, 882 coils, rear Nitrocharger shocks, new U bolts etc.

Excellent customer service from Dan and Steven...sincere follow up and quick assy. of the front coils and shipped to my door in 5 days.

Dan also took the time over the phone to answer all my "noob to the Toyota world" questions and also suggested (based on mileage) a kit to upgrade the mounts for my steering rack with poly parts.
