Gas tank protection

    Well, since none of you have shown up to collect the drop in bed liner I had advertised as free it's time to re-purpose. My tas tank "skid" is so rusted out I'm starting to worry it'll fall away form the truck at highway speeds and lead to some damage, so I'm cutting up the bed liner and bolting it to the truck using aluminum. Can anyone see any potential issues here? Am I a moron? I don't go crawling so the only thing it needs to do is deflect debris.
