I have never really taken my Tacoma off road and decided today was the day! I can tell you that I was pleasantly surprised how well it did, kept up with the jeeps and made it all the way through.

Starting out we started on the Lenoir side this is the first creek crossing you come to and also when it changes from pavement to dirt.

These are a few I snapped when she was still clean.

This is the next obstacle we came to probably the hardest of the whole trail.

Lots of scenery out here, I love being in the middle of nowhere.

This is the last creek crossing we came to, the pipe made it a bit interesting.

Stopped on the Blue Ridge Parkway before heading back.

Sorry, old post, but I lived in Boone for a few years. That looks like a relaxed trail. Where outside of Boone is it @ok4me2xlr8?

I don't know if you remember where the Mountain Stop Store is on 321 as you are coming up the mountain from Lenoir but if you do it is the very next road on the right coming from that direction. You can actually search it on google maps as it is technically a state road!

Hate to revive an old thread.

Does anyone know if this trail is closed down now? I have been seeing varying reports that it is no private land.

If anyone can shed some light, it would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

I would like to revive as well. At some point back there is private road (guns have actually been drawn). Does anyone have a good map to avoid private property?

And let's revive again! This is another moderate trail I've heard about and would like to try. Preferably without a gun being drawn on me....
