Got the boxes mounted for a recent Utah trip.

There wasn't enough time to put together the slide-out mechanism for the military medical chests. I added some 1" aluminum angle and used lashing straps to hold them down. One box contained snowboarding gear and the other mountain biking gear and the rainfly. It takes about 2 minutes to remove the boxes and 4 to replace. Not bad. No issues with the rack & setup after over 2200 miles on this trip.

Your racks are a great solution to the Flippac roof storage issue.

Turned out great! Excited to see where you take it with the slides when that comes around. Great pictures.

That fucking sucks. I have to park my truck outside at night and I'm concerned this is going to happen to me too. I love all the space I freed up behind my rear seats with the rifle case, but I can't afford to have my tools, etc. stolen by some asshole. So, I may just remove it all and only mount my TREDs and Plano case when I am going camping or on a trip. Does anyone have any suggestions about special bolt types that requires a special socket, similar to wheel locks, in order to remove them?

As often as I will be changing the setup of the contents on top of the rack, the Loctite solution wouldn't work for me. I'm just going to remove my stuff for now. Not worth having it stolen. *sigh*

Thanks Zach. I'll let you know as the slider project progresses.

Thanks! It's turning into a mid-life crisis build at this point.

On the cabrac is it recommended to seal the threads on the bolts to the cab, ie. teflon tape, silicone, etc?

When I installed mine, once I had the bolt holes in the roof exposed I ran a bead of silicone around them and pushed the spacers into it. So far the truck has stayed dry inside

I recommend using a glob of silicone or RTV sealant on the hole. Then stick the spacer on and set the rack on top. After it is centered go around and thread each bolt in. Once they are all in loosely, tiighten them up which will work the sealant down into the threads as well as smash it between the spacer sealing around that surface where it meets the truck roof

I didn't have the right tools to get through that metal piece in the weather stripping without destroying it. So I put it on without. I'll just cut it in to strips and 3M tape it down.

Did it get installed though, it looks bad ass. Thanks !
