I have been wanting to paint my grille and badges since buying my truck. I finally did it today. I'm happy with how it turned out. I don't have pictures of the badges because it was getting dark when I finished them. What do you guys think? 20150503_182016.jpg

Not bad, my friend! I like the way the white looks, for sure.

I did the same thing to my Super White. They techs at my local dealership always think its cool that I did the grill logo in white too. I don't like chrome so it all had to go! Debadged, but I did the grill just like yours! Good job! What did you use?

Looks awesome! I was thinking about doing the same thing to mine, including the chrome rear bumper. I hope mine turns out just as nice as yours!

Thanks everyone. I used dupli-color super white that I found at advance auto parts, dupli-color gloss clear coat and dupli-color adhesion promoter.

Are you able to take the front emblem off to paint it? I love that look! I just got my taco 2 days ago so I'm new to the scene haha

I like the color matched grill and rear bumper. I'd like to do this on my new silver SR5.

FYI, I coated my rear bumper with rattle-can rustoleum bedliner and I love the way it looks. Didn't want to go with a color match in the rear because I do a lot of construction and I knew it would be seeing some abuse. The spray on has held up great! And it's not that muddy texture of professional coatings. It's a light texture, but still has some grit to it. I would recommend it, but I know some people on here have done their bumpers in various coatings/paints.

That sounds like a good idea. I have been trying to decide what to do with my rear bumper. Did you just spray it on our did you scuff and prime it first?

Scuff, but no primer. 80 grit on a DA, it sounds aggressive, but I used a light touch (I wasn't trying to grind the thing). Just did a light first coat followed by two more heavier coats. I'm happy with the results, just have to keep moving. I ended up with a small run on the underside, but luckily the bedliner is really forgiving and I was able to cover it up with successive coats.

Thanks. I will probably give this a try sometime in the near future. My girlfriend called me crazy today for painting a brand new truck. Haha. The mod bug has already got me.

Yup, I did mine with only about 20 miles on the truck. I pretty much started tearing it apart when I got it home!

Thank looks really good! Looks like it came from the factory that way. Perfect match! Well done!
