I don't want to join the 4runner forum. So I come here to hit up all the vast general Toyota knowledge base and ask if any insiders know if the rumors that Toyota is bringing back a v8 option in the 2016 4runner are true. If so I will order one. And join the 4runner forum:D
So-anything heard out there besides the few websites written in horrible broken English?

I feel exactly the same Rock. They did it back in the mid 2000s but I had already bought my Tacoma. A buddy at work had a 2005 and I got to drive it-it was really nice! I want one bad and I hope it aint a bunch of BS!

Just put one in and make a better engine choice then they do. Lots of options including the 4.6 v8 from the tundra.

I'm at that "buy it already done" stage in my life. Been there done that in my youth.

Yes they are, it's getting the 5.7 from the current run tundras and the 2016 Tacoma is getting the 4.6 IForce V8.

We love our '05 Limited V8 4Runner! Thing is a total beast, about the only thing my fiance would trade it for would be an Orange TRD pro model but we'd miss the V8 dearly.
It DGAF about pushing around lift, 35's and Armor.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I don't see it happening, with new CAFE fuel economy laws going into effect 2016, I'm certain a big thirsty V8 4Runner is the last thing on Toyota's mind right now.

That aint slowing anyone else down like Chevy Ford Dodge etc. And every damn one of them has a v8 SUV in their lines. I feel like the almost untouchable Sequoia and Land Cruiser are for the select few, but for the rest of us the 4runner is overdue in the v8 field.

I figured with the comment about the 4.6 going into the 2016 Tacoma you all would have got that I wasn't serious.
