Wow thats bs. Those Fox coilovers are meant to be built specificially for the RCD kit which means if could be their older style ones. Take a look at this vid and see if what you got is their latest and greatest as we filmed this a month ago with one of the Fox reps:

Could a kind soul post up a picture of their front top strut mounts with the RCD bilsteins? After two yrs here's what mine look like.

Looks like the lower retainer washer got eaten away (possibly corrosion? this is a beach truck) and the strut just ate away at the stut mount. Either this was installed wrong or the bilsteins could not handle what I put the truck through, idk.

So now I can either get new bilsteins and strut mounts (cheap) or upgrade to some icons or foxes leaving me with one question- do the icons and foxes utilize the factory strut mounts? Curious myself how the foxes compare to the billies...

I took look at your video, from what I can see those have the double ring setup. I emailed DSM as soon as I opened the box and noticed this single ring setup. DSM responded that Fox was making changes on the production line and that this was the correct product for our RCD lifts. The new setup uses an Allen key set screw that squeezes the ring closed around the shock body. The problem being the set screw now takes up a space where there should be 1 of the incremented holes for the spanner wrench. This forces you to have to reach around the backside of the shock to get to the next hole past the set screw. Here is where the POS generic spanner wrench becomes a problem, it was to wide to fit between the ring and the strut tower. We had to grind it down to make it somewhat fit. With the range of motion you have to turn the ring this would always leave the ring in a place where set screw area would force you to try and grab the next hole behind it. This is where the wrench not being able reach around behind the strut became a big problem. Also the instructions Fox sent to make adjustments was for the double ring setup. No mention of the set screw or how far you could back it off safely. In the end we had to move the ring down 7/8" just to get the truck back to were it was sitting with the bilstien setup. That's 7 full turns of the ring on each side. That made for a nice long afternoon.

I did my ordering for this over the phone with DSM, so I never saw a picture of the setup or the spanner wrench. I just stated I would need the the spanner wrench for this setup and please include one in my order. Sadly I had no way of knowing how much trouble this cheap stamped steel wrench would cause. Lucky for me we were doing this work at my buddy's shop, so I wasn't paying for labor.

As for the ride...I def will give more feedback once I have drivin the truck more. My first impression of the ride is very good. The roads here in VT are terrible lol. What used to be a harsher hitting bouncey ride has turned into a much softer almost a floating over the bumps feeling. You still know you are going over bumps but they now feel really muffled and more controlled. That's the best I can describe it right now.
Here is a pic of the set screw area. I'll try and take a better pic later. You can see can see the silver dot in the ring where the set screw is

Wow! Do you jump your Taco alot?! Ive never seen that before. Either installed incorrect and friction grinded it down or you have extreme rust going on in there or you been jumping in too high;)

Wow that's crazy lol. The fox and icons are complete replacements. They just bolt right into your strut tower.

I got a little more seat time yesterday and today back and forth to work. I still feel they are an improvement over the Billy's and the stock coil setup. Are they worth the extra dollars, to me they are. I really wanted the adjustability these offer combined with a better ride. You would have to make that call for youself and if those 2 things were worth the high price tag.

On a better note today, my custom Alcans arrived today. They pretty dam awesome compared to the crappy stock springs lol.
I also ordered the real fox spanner wrench today. Based on the pictures it def looks more suited to the tight working space.

I just noticed one of my rear shocks are leaking fluid. Anyone else had that issue with this lift? (Bilstein shocks)

I haven't had issue with leaking, I did have a prob with the dam dam rubber dust boot staying on in the rear. I ended up putting a piece of 3M tape around the top of the shock and double zip tying it. That has held up now for awhile. Once I recoop from this latest lift upgrades, I'm going swap the rears with the matching fox shocks for the rears

I had the same problem with the boot. Took a few tries with zip ties and pliers.

I may look into upgrading from my 3" OME with Dakar leafs and All-Pro UCAs to this. Id like to gain at least another 1-2" of lift.

Id really like to run Icons with it, but if I choose that route it will be a while. Because they're not cheap lol

There that's what a spanner wrench should look like lol. Way better suited to the job than the the 9.99 pos I was sent with my order.

I agree that the kit looks like they got the angle perfectly placed but there looks like slight rubbing between the axle and the botten of your shocks did u notice any rubbing with this kit and how would you rank it off roading vs Toytech

There is plenty of clearance between the shock and the axle. No rubbing.

I'm thinking about this lift for my '13 Reg Cab and wanted to stick with 265/75/16s. Anybody have a pic of that? I don't want it to look like a roller skate.

Hate to tell you but it most likely will. I'd go 285's to make it proportional

Anybody have input on how to gain an extra inch or two up front? I have a new steel bumper coming in and want to Maintain the same hieght or gain another inch if possible.

I've never messed with spacers before and UCAs are outta my budget at the moment
