Im looking at maybe building something similar out of my sway bar, Im getting some coilovers soon and want to take off the sway bar. But at the same time never drove a truck without out one with an IFS, only on offroad toys like buggies, rhinos, quads, and have i flipped them before, do not want to that in my truck. I also tow things like my john boat, quad, camping gear, and firewood in the bed of my truck. I would like an easy option to make my sway bar three pieces with middle piece and brackets staying on the truck and the bar turned away from the suspension, zipped tied to the frame. but no need for a quick disconnect i can carry wrenches with me. Then just undue the zip tie and bolt the outer pieces back on to the suspension before i go back to the hwy. In my brain seems easy to do, anyone done it?

Or just get rid of the sway bar all together or keep it on?

If you're going with a higher spring rate up front, you probably won't notice that there isn't a sway bar.

I took mine off when I installed my OME kit, but I'm running 886x coils, granted I also have a fair amount of weight up front.

Even with a more moderate lift (OME 884/Nitros), you won't notice a front swaybar delete.

885s/nitros and I noticed a difference. Feels looser and got kinda scary going down the highway with a heavily loaded trailer. Never did that with the sway bar on, same road, same load, same weight distribution on the trailer. Also I noticed more body roll. I let my brother drive it and I was following behind him and I was surprised at the amount of visible body roll there was simply making turns just around town. Waiting for the dealership to finish the frame replacement and then the sway bar is going back on with a relocate kit. If I was doing some serious offroading all the time it'd be a different story

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the high-speed handling without the bar.
It'd be nice if a company would put out a high quality heim'ed kit with disconnects.

OP, did you read the thread where that pic came from? It's been a while since I read it, but didn't someone comment about welding on spring steel?

Yea I took off right now in stock configuration (not as easy as everyone says it is had to take of skid plate too) and it took out did some hard turns. I felt some slight body roll but not very much. The main thing noticed is the steering is much more responsive and the suspension was much smoother. I could feel the front tires grip the ground better and if I went hard into a turn the front tires would start to skid. I definitely did not feel at all out of control. However I have not gone on any big mountain turns or cross wind HWY situations at freeway speeds. I'm getting coilovers/shocks with resi's on all fours soon.

It's more noticeable after a lift and tires, when your CG is higher.

Cool then it shouldn't be a problem for me only want upgrade to 265/75/16 when my stock tires 245/75/16 are used up and I'm only leveling out the truck with the coil overs like 1.5 to 2 inches in the front.

    OME and worth every penny.
After driving at hwy. speeds for a week with mine off.....I won't do it again.
Seems like something very bad could easily happen at 70+.

I'm on 35"s with 2.5" Icon 700# springs. Sway bar is there but unscrewed. It broke free from the frame and I never removed it completely. That will happen this week, but hadn't up to this point. Just unscrewed it from the spindles.

Have not had anything I can't control. Towed another SUV for a few hundred miles and exceeded 80+. No issues or things that I was uncomfortable with
