Not bad but I've seen better. I got mine for $1,000 and they were cleaner and on a fresh rebuild/revalve. They were valved for a ranger so I had to get them revalved. I wouldn't spend more than 1,000 on those. Either way they are much cheaper than buying new.

$800-1100 range is about normal on used 2.5x16 from what I have seen. The lower end of that being harder to find, 1100 is right around ball park though. Still a good price on those triples. 2 tube bypasses can be found a little cheaper.

Ok yeah that's what I thought I've been looking for some around 800-1000 ish.
I kinda mentioned to my dad what I was looking for and he said his coworkers brother builds sand rails and might be able to get me a discount on some Kings!
I'm still looking for used bypasses, but if I get some amazing discount I might go with that lol.

Yes on the slip yoke, you need to do a lot of measuring with the suspension all the way up and all the way down to figure out your mounting position on the axles and upper shock mounts. I bought my lower shock mounts from Tim as well. I think the 33s are helping me with the not rubbing. I'm not a big fan of extra big tires, too much Unsprung weight.

I also boxed the frame. It's a lot easier if you just pull the bed.

Yeah I was thinking of boxing the rear too. Tim just made a weld on kit available.
I wish there was a drive shaft I could just bolt in lol. I probably wont be able to finish or even work on the rear end till fall or winter now some expenses came up.

I bought the laser cut pieces from Tim over a year ago. They fit perfect.

    In a nut shell.
Pros. You get more travel particularly up travel, longer leaf pack with more arch without lifting the rear as much and less axle warp.
Cons. You need drive shaft work, get new spring perches under the axle(if you are a 6 lug), fabricate a bed cage and extended brake lines.

I am wondering if it would be possible to install the DMZ sua kit on my truck, but temporarily use some non-LT shocks (fox 0-2” lift smoothies).

I would use limit straps to not over extend the shocks, and also have hydro bump stops that can be welded at any height on the frame to keep the shocks from bottoming.

This way I can run the Dmz kit, although only using upper 9-10” of travel temporarily, until I can build a bed cage and add 16” bypasses later on.

I’m trying to get rid of a horribly stiff 2” AAL and oem tsb spring pack.

Also would my driveshaft need a slip yolk/joint added if the above setup were possible?
I will need one eventually for true LT, as I’m a prerunner with a solid 2 piece driveshaft.

I was 2wd, limited my kit at 15-16" without driveshaft modifications but I was strapped conservative. But depends on your application.

When you're installing it you'll want to cycle the leafs and the shocks. I guess you could hypothetically do your hangers and cycle the leafs and run the stock shock location but you're really making it much more difficult for yourself.

You might be able to find some cheap smooth body 16 inch shocks so you can do it all at once and be done with it. I would recommend waiting otherwise.

Tim does have pics of a white tacoma that had his spring under kit with a shock hoop running 14 inch bypasses under the bed.

Thanks for your input, that’s what I’m kinda really thinking is overall my best option. My application is more high speed open desert, no crawling, maybe son jumps but mostly big whoops!

Probably better to just wait and do it all at once, and the correct setup the first time.

I will probably try to find a cheap used j66 pack and mount the hydrobumps in the meantime, as the rear is frustratingly stiff.

Save $$$$ for bypasses and a bedcage when I can afford the whole sha-bang !

Yeah thats a smart way to do it, plus gives you time to hunt for a deal on bypasses if you want to see some money!

I had a similar discussion with tim about waiting for 16s and running my 12s. He said the same thing that it might be possible, but then I might have to reconfigure it again with 16s anyhow. He said to wait and collect parts so the kit can be installed the way it was intended instead of chancing stuff. Because of this shocks are on my list before his kit so I can do it all at once.

What are you running in the front and what do you want your truck to achieve? I have the tc equivalent sua with relocated 12s and without extending the width of your front and rear hangers the range of travel will be about 12 inches with the sua pack in the stock hangers. You can get 14 inches with the archive relocate, but it’s really only going to benefit from slow rock crawling with one side up and one side down. In order to get more functional travel with the axle being horizontal and able to cycle 14 like a long travel truck you need to get a kit that widens the hangers beyond the stock geo. I get the vibe though that you only plan to stay midtravel, which if that’s the case then the mid travel will work for you just fine.
