Seems like a drunken monkey designed the new UI but I'll need a week to see if I can get used to it.

Don't like it... so far:help: Seams cumbersome, too many new features. But, apparently the old software was no longer supported, and the updates sucked!
    I'll leave this here as a test:frusty:

Playing with my new phone. Switched carriers after 12 years because they kept jacking my bill up. (Verizon) moved to the mobile for nearly $30 less.

    How goes it out east?

I moved from Vz to T-mobile for a year and then back to Vz. I liked T-mobile but as soon as I'd go up into the mountains reception was extremely limited. With my hobo camping plans this summer I jumped back to Vz on a special they had last November.

That's what i'm a bit worried about. I was grandfathered in verizons "unlimited" data plan. Unfortunately since my screen on my rezound, which was old but I was very happy with, just wasnt cutting it anymore.
It was either deal with someone from craigslist to buy a used phone or pay $700 cash for a new phone and keep my plan. Things have certainly come a long way and unfortunately the $15 lan line of the 80's is a thing of the past.

:anonymous: We still have a home "landline"; it's tied in with our cable package somehow. But I'm a dinosaur.

Yeah I pay $130/month for my phone of which $27 is for the phone/device payment plan; then I get a 10GB data with internet sharing/tethering to other devices from the phone and also insurance ($11/month) for the phone for accidental damage. 10GB is a lot for me but when it's my only internet connection in the forest (starting in 2.5 weeks) I'll use the data every month. The $130/mo price includes a modest discount through my company since they do a lot of business with Verizon.

I'll drop the insurance after 12-18 months on the plan as then the deductible for the insurance $100 will be the same as what I can find the phones for on craigslist/ebay used. My old Verizon plan for 2GB was $95/month back before I switched to T-Mobile.

It's still a crazy amount of money for a phone but VZ's individual plan with 2GB and no data tethering (I could hack the phone to enable it, but it'd be annoying to do) would've been $103/month after taxes and fees as the new individual plans don't get corporate discounts or so I was told.

I love the voice quality on POTS phones (landlines). When I had in my first solo apartment all I ever got were telemarketer spam calls and never used it so I went cell phone only.

I'm honestly not sure how our home cable package is configured; my wife is the book keeper and I don't worry about unless she mentions something. We are still on the same corporate (Air Force) cell phone plan we've had since we moved here 13+ years ago. From what I understand it's still a good deal; we have 6 phones (wife, sons + sig others), unlimited call and text, 30GB shared data--costs $350 a month. Wife bills the kids for their portions. It's AT&T, but it must be a good deal, because the kids have looked at going on their own plan, but the price always brings them back to staying on our plan. :notsure:

    Bite me!

Been on vacation for the last 7 days fishing all over Florida. I start my night shifts Thursday. So, not looking forward to going back to work!

I find it funny this was the first thread notification I got when I picked up wifi.

We stayed near Maggey Valley, NC 2 years ago & loved it. This time we're headed to Blue Ridge, Ga. The hard part is finding cabins that are secluded.
