    Wow nice!!

I read into some torque specs and it looks like a lot of these items are really really low torque.

An example is that the cross member to frame is 30ft lbs.

No it is not the brake pads... this is not the same noise at all and it does not occur when applying the brakes... this noise is much louder and way more pronounced... more like a hammer to the frame rail... that's not an exageration... you can here the noise from across the parking lot at the dealership...

thanks for all your research- i have an 05 that has recently begun making this noise and it's been driving me crazy- took it to the dealer and they recommended new upper and lower control arms- for $1500... not today... they did say they torqued the cab bolts but to no avail. I've been under it all day today- wheels off feeling the pop and thinking it's on the right- then the left- ahhhh- anyway- thanks again and any more specifics you have so I can pass that on to the dealer would be most appreciated!

My dealer did the pads and caliper pins under warranty. That fixed the brake pad noise. My creak in the front right when I back up, then turn forward with the wheel cut still remains!!

no real earth shattering news yet... took the truck into the shop on Friday for the leaking differential... they had to order a right front drive shaft seal... they are installing that today... that should solve the leak issue I just hope the noise issue doesn't come back... we shall see...

Sorry don't want to highjack your thread but did your "popping" sound like this?

I've been having this clicking sounds for over a year now and haven't figured it out... Was thinking about taking it to the dealership for them to sort out.

Seems to be coming from Left front wheel and happens when turning and general suspension activity (like speedbumps).

It can also click multiple times like a quick tap dance, but mostly it will do it once then settle down until the next major hit.

However, I can sometimes hit a large speed bump fast and it won't make the sound...

    Thanks!

I'm having that same exact noise from the drivers side front wheel area. This just started about 500 miles ago for me. Very noticeable when the wheel is turned all the way to the right and I'm going in reverse over a bumpy road.

No... the noise I get is much louder and much more solid sounding... best way to describe it is get under your truck and give the frame a good tap with a hammer... sounds like something gets A LOT of tension on it the pops loose... you can feel it up through the floor board into your feet and ass...

That is very similar to how mine sounds and when driving on less than smooth roads it happens a lot.

I have the same issue on my 12. I ruled out looseness in the suspension as I have checked every bolt and nut and am running aftermarket uppers and lowers. I ruled the sound out as normal. Eh. Ill find it one day. As of right now. Nothing worries me.

Pictures of said area being loose and clunking?

Nice find! Oddly enough. I have a skid plate for the T case and the more I think about it. I get the feeling that those bolts may not be tight enough on it. I will have to check in the morning but that definitely gives me a good place to start as I have checked all the body cab mounts and the front suspensionis tight which leads me to have to check the area which can be prone to shifting. That cross member. The noise is fairly loud enough to the point where its annoying but I have almost stopped listening to it. Good tip. Thanks!

Any chance that a loose bolt/nut is in the frame/rocker panel/fender/side step ??? IT appears that the "bump" needed to cause this is quite "Sharp" or sudden. Perhaps the loose item is hopping in its trapped location ...

Heard back from Toyota. Scheduling the field service specialist from Toyota to make a trip up to see the truck.

well if you were near WV we could just get them both taken care of at the same time... my noise appears to be gone but with the leaking axle seal i'm afraid the fix may have created another problem
