When did you buy the wheelers packs? They aren't made by Alcan anymore. China now.

I don't have keeper bolts. I have leaf separation and have for two years of abuse. No issues.

I know the leaf mounting is different, but shock mounting location isn't different on the earlier models, is it?

    Early 2012.

Yea the only benefit you'd gain is getting stock up travel back. But since you're on such longer shackles you won't get that back anyways so really not worth it.

    Unless I go 63s or a 4 link rear :)

Let's face it though... with a baby in the house, time to work on trucks is really at a minimum. BTW, you should come through town a day early so you can help me install the new suspension for the Wagoneer!

Ha! I would actually. Normally I'd leave Saturday after I play trumpet at graduation. But I wouldn't get to Denver till super late.

Now I have to work a show at the symphony so I don't leave until Sunday morning.

^Thanks for the link. I skimmed over it and it looks like a good read. I'll dig into it after I get the suspension replace on the Waggy this weekend.

So, I don't have the BOSS kit, but I'd bet that it's a good setup. What I did was use a 1st gen Tundra 5100 with a 2nd gen 16" tacoma coil and the Toytec coilover collars to make my own MT setup. For what I do (rock crawling and street driving) this setup works perfectly. Using a 16" coil instead of a 14" coil works really well. I get a nice ride and flex out of it. As for additional weight on the front end... I'd say that I have about 80lbs of winch, 50 lbs of bumper, and 80 lbs of skid plates up there... so maybe 210 lbs total.

Also, like lotsoftoys said, Toytec is really good at working with customers, in my experience. If you call them up, they are usually friendly and knowledgeable.

    In other news:
So, mission Waggy Spring Install is a total failure. I argued with Alcan yesterday but, long story short, the springs are too short. (Sounds familiar doesn't it?) Alcan made a stock length spring, then arched it higher for 2" of lift. This made the eye to eye measurement too short. I will call them tomorrow and tell them that they can either make me new springs, to my spec, or they can take these back and refund my money. Has anyone else had trouble with Alcan lately? If you have post up... Bill says I'm a problem customer and everyone else is happy with the length of their springs. Long story short... I'm done with Alcan.

That sucks. I hope Alcan saw those pics, those springs aren't even close. I'm surprised a company known for it's leaf springs doesn't understand the simple concept that lifted leafs are also longer leafs, has something to do with shackle angle and stuff .

As far as others being happy with their product, I have really only heard complaints from consumers using their product. Good luck, let us know how it unfolds.
