Had a decent workout this evening with the trainer, I got all fired up during my warmup (.5 mile run we do at the start of every workout) , I had just hit the halfway point and was turning around and this car drives by real slow and an occupant starts yelling "run fat boy run".

First day of not following a program in a while. Forgot what it was like having to think about what exercises to do next. It's so much easier just looking at your phone and following what some "professional" tells you you should do.

On my last cut, I didn't follow a program. I just lifted as heavy as I could to try to keep muscle while cutting. Figured I'd go back to that. Did 5x5 today on bench at 155, 185, 215, 245, 275 (Only did 3 on 275). Followed that up with cable flies and then incline dumbbell 3x10 with 80 lb dumbbells.

Mixed in tricep push downs, overhead tricep extensions, skull crushers, and dips. We'll see what happens from here on out. Gonna try to keep lifting heavy so I can maybe not lose as much muscle or strength while I'm losing weight.

I like not following a program. It is nice to just do what something else says to do and you will also likely see better results but I really enjoy just doing what feels good. It is really easy to get into a routine though so to help keep things different I still look at other workouts and incorporate things I haven't done in a while. Like doing front squats, farmer walks, or curls in the squat rack.

Ah, I'll get back in the routine in a couple of weeks. I'm just not used to it. Spent 12 weeks on Kris Gethin's "12 week mass gainer" program, then 6 weeks on Jim Stoppani's Shortcut to Shred. I'll stick with a 4x4 or 5x5 routine on all of my primary movements once a week, then do a lighter weight, 10-12 rep day once a week (I'll be hitting everything twice a week).

I doubt they would even try to fight, my size intimidates most people (6'3" 245lbs)

    Yep
I definitely will, I've been in a rut for the last few weeks because of sickness but I'm slowly getting healed back up and this week is finals week so I'll have some time opening up.

I haven't followed a routine in over a year probably. I do have about 10-15 workouts per body part written on a piece of paper that I keep in my truck (most of them are the 'top-rated' workouts for that muscle group on bb.com that I posted in here a week or so ago); I look at it before I workout to see what I haven't done in a while and I'll generally do it. Like yesterday was leg day and I noticed I hadn't done deficit deadlifts in a long time, so I started out with those. As far as reps go, since I hit each body part twice a week, I'll have a low rep day (5-10) and a high rep day (11-15) to cover all bases. I've always heard low reps for strength and higher reps for size/definition, so what could possibly be better than a combination of the two!?

    Here's what I do:

    Upper A/B:
    chest: 3 sets of 5-15
    chest: 2 sets of 5-15
    back: 3 sets of 5-15
    back: 2 sets of 5-15
    shoulders: 3 sets of 5-15
    traps: 2 sets of 5-15
    biceps: 3 sets of 5-15
    triceps: 3 sets of 5-15
    forearms: 2-4 exercises, 3-4 sets of 15-25

    Lower A/B:

    Quads: 3 sets of 5-25
    Quads: 2 sets of 5-25
    Hams: 3 sets of 5-25
    Hams: 2 sets of 5-25
Abs: 2-4 exercises, 1-2 sets of 15-25 per exercise
Calves: 2-4 exercises, 1-2 sets of 15-25 per exercise

Not that you asked or anything lol :anonymous:

    Damn, you're a big son of a bitch! I wish I was 6'3"...I feel so short @ 5'11'' lol

Yeah, but short people can look bigger easier. You know how hard it is to make your arms and legs look big when they're twice the size of your torso?! Most of my friends are shorter than me and they look twice as big as me, although they weigh 30-40 lbs less :pout:

When I was at 209 in Dec, I looked big, but it didn't look good because of my ~16% bodyfat.
