Makes sense.......I'm going to try to repurpose my cia filter. It is hollow down the middle too. Hoping to cut away and make it fit while retaining protection and structural body strength.

That might work. The key is to simulate a stock setup as much as possible from the filter to the MAF. I was even thinking of putting in a "U" and having the filter point backwards on the side/back of the turbo but the intake air temps would be much hotter. Oh well...

Recently got the innovative ebc/wideband in. Looks very nice. It came with a map......so I read that I just run vaccum to it off the manifold. Sounds easy enough. Apparently the controller needs a map signal for something? Would the map be more for the afr or ebc? My guess is afr's.

I think it will be fine with a pre TB vacuum tap as opposed to a MAP reference (manifold absolute pressure post TB. The boost doesn't matter until it gets to the intake manifold and the turbo will work less if you have the EBC connected to a post turbo/pre TB vacuum reference. There is no way for that boost gauge/boost controller combo to modify the engine's AFRs so I don't think the MAP is for AFRs.

Yea, I thought it was weird because it has a boost solenoid and the map. But it controls boost and widebands afr. The map may make it more accurate as an ebc. It has the wideband 02 that I'll put in the downpipe, but why the map too? I also think I'll be able to run my methanol controller off the map. It registers and runs off voltage.

Super weird. The only thing I can make of that is that maybe your EBC regulates boost based on the AFR signal output to keep the engine from getting damaged due to a malfunction in the fuel delivery or a bad tune.
I've never heard of such a thing but maybe that's what it is :D

This weekend I modded my lights.....for the third and final time.....LED color changing halos, all other leds match now cool white, put 4 times the amount I had into my color changing demon eyes.....flat blacked everything out, they are so badass, I can't even describe!

    Lighting work.....

Also put leds in the dash, like 30 of them......cool white too. Looks good.

    Dash led......

I'm in the process of redoing the rat nest of wires I had from 10 electrical mods being done over time. Dash is still dangling things.

    Dangle.....

    20141004_145853.jpg

Upgraded some switches. Got a "zombie" light switch coming. How exciting is that.....oh and did an amber eagle eye in each corner lens. Still got to do the famous wheel well eagle eye turn signal mod......

oh man, the lights came out nice. I like em. A whole weekend for that. I just ordered fiberglass fenders all around, glassworks unlimited's big kit. So excited for those. Going to change the body lines in a massive way.

I re-did my intake today. I re-routed the pre-IC pipes, successfully deleting like a foot worth of unnecessary pipes/bends and I switched that top 3" section of pipe for a 2.5" one that I had laying around and the faster response is absolutely noticeable.

Nice. I'm glad you talked me into and I decided on 2.5" pipes too. Crazy that taking out that much is so noticeable.

Thanks man. Its gonna get there. Hoping to feel 400+ ft lbs in a 4000lb 4x4.

Worked on my welding skills yesterday. Used some ss 3/32 rods and some steel 1/8. Those smaller rods burn fast. Definitely different in welding the ss rods versus steel rod.

Picked up a 21 gal compressor, hvlp guns, welding table, and cart from harbor freight. I love a lot of their stuff for the price. Going to paint it someday and bedliner the undercarriage. Want to keep it white but i will throw in some pearl and color change chameleon. Eventually will paint my LT A-arms and misc. parts. Going to pick up a sandblaster for frame and underside before i bedline underneath.
