Just out of curiosity--any idea how you managed to bend the spindle? They look pretty beefy to start with so I guess I always figured it'd take a 20 foot drop or more to damage them...kind of why I hadn't bothered to look into gussets up to now.

I hit a 2' wide by 2' deep washout at El Mirage at about 60 mph at an angle. I don't know if it was from the swaybar removal or not but it is at the thin part where the swaybar connects.
The only thing that bothers me is removing the knuckle part from the bearing and the thin sleeve from the spindle arm.

Holy...60?!? that must've been a lovely jolt! Well I guess I'll put them back on my wish list and be sure to watch out for high speed washout approaches!

I was lucky, no speed limit on the dry lakebed means I had Betsy up to 90 at one point.

Some of you will remember me posting about back surgery last year. Well, for a while, things were great. But now, 5 months later, the pain is back. Nerve isn't as severely pinched as before, so no sharp/shooting pains. However, the foot and buttock are aching. Looks like round two is in the works.

    Sucks getting old.

Personal experience? My surgery was originally supposed to be a microdiscectomy (similar to above). But the surgeon saw lateral spinal stenosis, and had to cut away some bone. That requires "regular" type surgery for access. I do think that this may just be a bulged disc, and that may be eligible for micro and/or laser procedures.

It's amazing how a minor pain, that is continuous (think mild headache that never stops) is so debilitating. Saps the life right out of you.

An old friend of mine, about 3 years older, was a very active person and suddenly he is dealing with a spine issue that can't be corrected with surgery. Long story short, he has 2 wires that run from his waist up his spine and deliver a constant charge to block a portion of the pain. Yikes!

Just had my first grandchild a boy about two months ago. The bad thing they live in Ohio and we are here in Va. We just don't see him nearly enough.
