I've upgraded my 91 toyota hilux to a 2014 standard cab 2.7l, manual. I'm trying to find a manual for it. Not only are the manuals fun to read and also to find out how they are made and assembled. Lots of insite and good troubleshooting! Seems that after talking to the toyota parts guys, they forwarded me to Helm (800-782-4356). Finely got someone that knew something, he said last printed manuals are 2011! Seems that it's all online access now, www.techinfo.toyota.com. not good! looks like I need to get internet to the shop/garage? And subscription rates are $700/yr! or $15/for 2-days! There is also subscription rates to alldata (alldatadiy.com) for $26.95/yr. Other auto manufactures have the adobe documents for manuals. I'm looking for off-line access. My question is what all are you doing for a manual for your tacoma?

My 2013 came with a printed service manual in the glove compartment when I purchased the vehicle....having online manuals are stupid IMO, god help you if your truck breaks down and you don't have your cellphone

I agree, I think the owners manual is the most important tool in any vehicle. Having them only available online is a mistake.

Sorry I should specified, SERVICE MANUALS. I also hoped that most wrench on their own cars and trucks? Its usually the electrical sensors and wiring that go bad and need replacing. The way I'm looking at things is the wiring diagrams are one of the most important things you can have on todays cars. So much changes in wiring from one your to another! So having a service manual that is a few years older that your car or truck that says it covers your engine and trans can cause some huge frustrations. At this point in time, I'm willing to come close, that is why I was looking into the 2011 tacoma manuals. But I guess that makes me funny, I like to get a job done with the least amount of headaches so I can move onto the next thing on the list. IF it is possible to find the 2014 (in my case) it would really be helpful! Oh, it's also possible to download the OWNERS manual from the toyota web site: http://www.toyota.com/owners/web/pages/resources/owners-manuals (if you are interested?)

If it wasn't for the frame rust (hear frame flex going around corners) I would still keep and drive the 'ole hilux. I was looking into a frame build, starting with an 4x2 s-10 (street rodders have been using it for years, lots of aftermarket support! 14" wilwood brakes! how do you like to stop!? rack and pinion steering! Ride height is adjustable!) What's also worth noting is back in the 90s, you could also stop by the local auto parts to pick up a copy of the chilton or haynes manual. Have you looked lately? Even they aren't adding new cars to the manual inventories. Both haynes and chilton stopped printing manuals around 2005. Is it not profitable to make manuals? Look at the aftermarket industry. It's still thriving and doing well! ....I'll get off my soap box now. Best do this before I really get started.

Now that I'm kinda tied into the 2014 tacoma, I'm considering is getting the factory manuals for the 2011 ($835) just to have something. I really don't want to digging a trench to wire the shop/garage or pipe some insecure wifi to it (I also work in the IT field!) Then for the wiring, not sure but nd4spdbh post intrigues me for the 2012+ factory wiring (best way to get in touch?) or try the $15/2-day access to techinfo.toyota.com for the updated version, only to run it to a color laser for the differences.
