Yeah that was stupid on his part. Blames us all for our deficit. Puts out a shitty budget and taxes the working class more. And then calls an election when he had a free ride for 2 years to prove to us he can do it. I just can't believe how much the pc party fell in nominees

Colour me Happy Comrades! (Frankly I would have been pleased with a Wild Rose Win as well, but I have no shame admitting I voted NDP.) For all those who voted PC, at least if they get back in, you can be assured they'll be held more responsible from here on in. They know they can be voted out now, so they can't just do whatever the hell they please. I respect everyone's right to vote how they want based upon an informed decision.

Still sad only 58% voted and I'm sure the 42% are the ones bitching the ndp got in. Serge we have to get you up to red deer for a coffee night so we can meet you. Geoff is always mentioning you

Oh Lordy! And you'd be surprised how often I'm in Red Deer. (I was there yesterday and the day before for 6.5 and 4.5 hours respectively. Sadly, you'd have to come visit my ass in RDRH ER to see me. :p ) I'd be down for a meet and caffeinate.

    Agreed.

Good luck to the NDP. The quality of a good chunk of there MLA's is questionable.

Two students who plan to continue there studies and be an MLA, that sounds like they will have lots of time to take care of there constituents...

Already there's been a few run in's with young MLA's and disrespectful or downright stupid pictures being posted on there facebook that do not reflect the values someone in power should have...

One MLA is a former union advocate, which is good, the has been teaching Yoga to seniors for the last 10 years and intends on focusing on her Yoga career during her 5 years in the legislator...

This is going to be interesting kids. I'm hoping the NDP have a strong party whip because they are going to need to whip these poor choice champions into shape if they don't want the same sort of scandals that plagued the PC's.

Meh, I think that their MLA's need to quit teaching Yoga and trying to complete there degrees. When you become an MLA you put your career on hold. It doesn't matter if you are NDP, PC, etc you have a responsibility to focus on the people who elected you. I don't care if you only have one year left to complete your degree. You aren't getting paid MLA money to half ass your riding because you thought you were just a name on the ballet but ended up riding the wave of Orange.

Actually I'm pretty neutral right now about the whole election. I need to see a budget and how the NDP will balance supporting the little guy while restarting Alberta's economic engine. I'm not going to let excitement and a few cans of orange crush bring me fanatically behind the NDP when they haven't done anything yet. I also won't torpedo them for the same reason.

As for the other point I think we will see lots of skeletons fall out of the PC closet. Some of the staffers are going to want to find jobs in the new government and they hold the keys to all the scandals we don't yet know about I'm sure.

Thats fair. And I agree that being an MLA should be 100% of your attention. It should be your job. Because it is your job.

I'm reserving my judgement until they have a cabinet picked and a budget tabled. Until then, its all a moot point. I'm sure they'll also have some meetings with the new MLA's and discuss behavior; I doubt they've had the chance yet.

I'd pay PPV money to watch that seminar lol. "Don't take pictures fingering the Canadian flag, don't leave your facebook public and talk about all the drugs you do, and please remember not to reference the opposition as Hitler or the Nazi's lol."
