    I need some help here with electric issues, I have been having for while now. Can't seem to figure it out.

    Here are issue's :(

    1. My cluster gauge backlight will get brighter and dim.
    2. My Voltage meter on my obdII will fluctuated from like 14v to 12.56v when idle and driving.
    3. My AC blower will turn up and down while driving and idle.
    4. My dual battery gauge goes up and down with the voltage meter reading.


    The weird thing is it only happens when it is hot outside or when engine is fully warmed up.

    I have check my ground wires to the battery and even sandpaper the main terminal.

    should i resurface the positive terminal with sandpaper? when i mean sandpaper i have one of these. images_8e714265cb272bc4d68d6b8359da02a78e921cec.jpg

    please help.


    Both battery and Alternator are fairly new.

    Only when engine is hot? Are your main alt leads getting warn? Do you have a battery switch so you can run only one battery and see if problem goes away. How old is your alt?

    Yea the voltage only goes crazy when the engine is warm. I will have to check tonight to see if my leads are really warm. I do not have a battery switch. But I will disconnect the dual battery system and see if it problem goes away. The Alternator is from Mechman.com I bought it 11/12/2014.

    So, I am going to $5 on that regulator going bad...because you are describing voltage fluctuations and that is exactly what it does. Without seeing your truck in person I'm not willing to put more than $5 on it though...I gotta' use my monies for my mods :)
