Aight. First off I wanna say don't be a dummy and listen to what I say as a know all be all thing cause I don't know everything. Having said that, I know quite a bit, pay attention to detail more intently then most and base my opinions on intelligent perceptions and facts. I also have no bias towards anyone or their products, including myself.

So there are a few things that will turn me off from a person/company, with the 2 most important factors being accountability and craftsmanship. I can not accept either of those two factors as being a downfall of a person or their company. Neither require intellectual or physical skill, special tools, a special shop or any amount of money. The only thing they require of you is to be an honest person and care about what you do for yourself and other people. Being honest is being accountable. Having good craftsmanship has nothing to do with skill but with a level of personal pride, care and love for doing the best you can do at whatever you are doing. Many people are very skilled in their field of work but could give a fuck less about using that skill to produce the best product possible, while there are plenty of others who lack brilliance in skill but do everything practical to create something not only they can be proud of but the person who spends their money on it can also be proud of. Unfortunately, not everyone who claims to combine the best of both of those worlds is being honest.

Moving forward ...... I don't personally own anything made by him but I know 4 people in this thread who do and have seen 3 of those products in person. All three were both poorly designed and showed poor quality. Design in the products were lacking strength in key areas including gussets in high impact areas, creating questions of structural integrity, and voids cut out of metal creating obvious and obscene weak points in what otherwise would be much stronger areas. Quality in the products were lacking in key areas such as material side to side not being level, pieces side to side having different lengths and shapes, pre drilled mounting holes warped or not lining up and most importantly welds lacking in both strength and appearance and welds just lacking in existence. All of the above falls under craftsmanship, of which was obviously poor.

He claims to be a very competent welder and fabricator. This would lead me to believe that he is capable of producing well engineered parts and building them to an acceptable structural and visual quality. So since what I've seen isn't what I would assume he is capable of doing then that steers me towards saying he has poor craftsmanship, which as I stated earlier has everything to do with caring about your work and what you are providing other people. I have zero interest in endorsing or supporting someone who tells me through their work that they only care about the dollar bills I am sending them and once they have received my money I will in return receive a product thats sub par to what I was manipulated into believing I was getting. That person can go fuck themselves.

This leads into the other factor I mentioned in accountability. Misleading someone is called lying. That's not being accountable. Then if someone calls that person and says that they believe they have been manipulated into believing they were receiving a certain level of quality in the product they purchased and that persons response is that they don't take refunds and sorry but they can't and aren't willing to help in anyway, then their accountability only worsens. Then when someone calls them out on TW and that persons response is to blame a friend they hired to help build products and they didn't know anything about the bad quality products that were being sold to people with their company name on them, then it further degrades their accountability. Then when someone calls them out on TW about that person's website having verbatim verbiage copied from another companies website using exact pictures of products and descriptions that are owned and copyrighted by the other company, then accountability is only further degraded.

I'll let them get more into detail as it actually happened to them but these are just a few reasons as to why I can not and will not support SOS.

Well I was on my way to work out and some old bitch ran a red light and hit me causing me to do a 180 in the middle of the road. Not been a good day. Fucked her car up but did not do much damage to the Tacoma. Wish I would of had the rock sliders because if so there would of been a lot less damage more than likely. Busted my tire and took chunks of my wheel off. Of course I did not have a spare with me so I had to get it towed back to the apt.

Glad you're alright! the truck is fixable, you aren't.

As for my SOS story, you're better off reading through the thread that I put up about it. I wouldn't buy another product from him.

I will tell you this. I was amongst the first group to get my hands on an sos concepts front bumper. I ordered a hybrid as you can tell and also added a few things custom if you will that are now standard. The center hoop and the braces on the side of that hoop to be exact. As well as recovery points and light tabs.

Somewhere around July 7th or 8th of last year (not approximately but close) I received my bumper. About 6 weeks after the order was placed. Not bad if you ask me considering people were waiting months and evidently years on some other vendors. (Pay attention to this statement)

I was super excited I went and picked up my bumper as well as another members skid. I got the bumper home was super excited and overall very pleased. I cleaned it up sanded on it and went to town painting it. Two days later it is on the truck.... Well wait it is trying to be on the truck.

Round one of the issues. I can't get it on the factory mounts. The bumper seems to be a little short. I call Eddy, " see if you can pull it" I tried. It worked. Ok moving on huge smile. I bolt it on and viola..... No wait. Fuck it's hitting the braces under the headlights and where the grill is. Shit. Back off. Ball Ping hammer and some prayers. Clearanced. Bumper goes back on. It fits.... Kinda. I put the bottom bolts in and we have an issue. Why the fuck does the passenger side stick out so damn far. Call Eddy. " can you move it to the side some. "No it won't budge." Well I'll call you back" nothing. Still positive and giving good rep at this point

I go about attaching things and getting them ready. Frame brace mounts. Woo hoo they went right on..... Fuck this side doesn't line up. Man this can't be that bad my truck has never been wrecked that I know of. So I did what needed to be done. I enlarged the holes on the back side. Fits now.

Order my winch and it comes in. Take the bumper off. Getting used to this.

Round 4 or so. Fuck the holes are off. Re drill. Verified standard winch holes. Etc. then shackles come in. Call Gideon, " I don't know what the fuck the problem is they should fit just fine. Call eddy!" No answer. Response on Tw,"oh I use a 5/8 shackle instead of 3/4 like everyone else."

Would have been nice to know. I worked around it. Somewhere in all this madness I took the skid to the other member. He broke out the trust tape and measured. Remember the side that stuck out way too far? Yep. It was exactly 1" longer than the driver side.

Th moral is after the 2nd complaint issue. The customer service cease to exist and I was becoming a problem. And then the pms from other members started. Hey is your bumper fucked up? Mine is! Etc etc. each with an issue about their bumper and no help from sos.

And then I met Zack. And wow was his bumper fucked. But you can read about that.

Then there's also Taylor's sliders that have bent from him lifting his truck with them. That was fun night.

Well after the post about SOS I will be steering clear from their products. Thanks for all well thought responses.

Yeah I'm fine probably be sore tomorrow. Just hate I've only had this truck for three months now. There was not much damage done that I can tell. I'll be crawling under and give the frame a good look over.

Yeah. This is not us teaming up on someone to make them look bad. That's just not somethin I do or any of these guys in here. All these problems are facts. Facts show a lack of quality and attention. It's not just 4 people in this thread. It's many others. There will always be people who praise and stand by a company for whatever reason but from what I've read, notably in Zachs thread, is that people use personal feelings towards him to mask the defaults in his products. It's easy to have a "friend" and say "well yeah it's a little messed up but he is such a good guy and is always so busy working and helping other people and stuff that I support him and hope he does well." That's called being bias. That's the review you don't want to read

I still say my brute force products are probably the best quality I have seen.

Don't order from All-pro either. Poor design. Gid may remember how my back bumper looked

Haha I unsubd from that thread because people just can't take criticism. I just find it sad. It always goes the same way. You state a fact, someone doesn't know how to emotionally handle that, that someone returns with juvenile, nonsensical opinions that are of no relevance to the original fact and instead heavily laced with personal attacks and ridicule pertaining to you. I can't even read that thread. It just makes me sad

I agree. My brute force bumpers are amazing. There's nothing I could find on them that looked like poor quality. Nothing. And trust me, I looked. Haha

And yeah. Your bumper isn't the only one I've seen of them either. It's not just their armor but their LT kit is apparently crap too. Many people on here have had numerous problems

The whole bumper issue and quality control issue became a mute point once jberry called out Eddy for copyright infringement with the pelfreybilt issue.

Of course as the bumper issues it was turned into a, " i hired a guy who said this but did this etc"

All that SOS BS started again on the TW Facebook page a week or so ago. I was about to post a link to zack's thread than got a phone call or something and could not find post. I'll see if I can go back and find it and post. Someone did say how he copyed pelfreybilt's bumper and how the big ass SOS cut makes it a long weaker.
