I have a '03 Prerunner Double Cab 4x4.... and I Got a clunking noise when I brake .. got a squeeling noise that goes away when I stop and got a "clicking or knocking" while driving , and now my abs light is on.. I checked my brakes, pads still look new, changed last year. everything has been torque to specs, LCA's UCA's, swaybay ,etc.. changed the carrier bearing.. new shocks and a helper spring.. I have pried ,shook, and tried to move everything under the truck, just greased everything with a fitting..got two inch lift "pucks". Noises were going on before any of the mods.. My power steering rack has some play, got new bushings to put in for that.. Anyone have any ideas?? gonna get a code reader and see what code is causing the ABS light..

Two mechanics i know cant even agree which end its coming from..Clicking or knocking from the rear area.at least my opinon.. rest up front.. definitely..
    Driving me nuts....

A bad cv will cause a clicking noise in motion..

    Reserected from the dead.
The ABS light makes me want to say wheel bearing. Have you tried wiggling the front wheel while it's jacked up.

Chances are your steering play is in the shaft. Google "steering wheel clunk mod gunny" its a long ass thread, so grab some coffee. Your rear-end braking clunk noise COULD be axle wrap. Look it up and see if the symptoms are the same as yours. Super easy fix, but it is really just a bandaid. Hope that helps a bit.
