I've been patiently awaiting "the one", and need the forum's expertise on whether or not I should pull the trigger on this silver beauty. It's not a 4WD, but that's not a deal breaker for me- I hunt/fish/camp/kayak (no wheeling), but even checking KBB with the accessories, it reflects a blue book value of $16k.

    Your thoughts?!?!?!

How about this, how do you value that extra $2000 above bluebook towards your time if you say were to get the same used truck, but STOCK?

I understand that the $16K bluebook includes the aftermarket add-ons, but say if you were to buy a used but stock '06 DCSB sport package with 114K miles same condition, take the time to order all the parts plus shipping and take the time install them, would that STOCK kbb + PARTS + LABOR + TIME is greater than the $18 KBB with the mods? It's honestly your call.

With that clean of an install and great condition, I would jump on that if you're okay with the 2WD.

Your modifications have lowered the "pool" of people that would be interested in your truck. Only a small percentage of potential purchasers are looking for a truck that has body armor.

Great feedback, gentlemen (and ladies?). Especially your analysis, Mike (@Bishop2Queens6)- that really gives great perspective on how to approach the potential buy.

@roadking1, I'm with you on the 4WD. Again, giving consideration to my "need" for 4WD, a 2WD will suffice (but certainly wouldn't say no to a 4x4 if the right one came along!).

Thanks for the responses/feedback, all! Fingers crossed on the right decision....

It is a nice looking truck. As a comparison of sorts, I bought a '13 5 lug access cab with only 8.5k miles for very little more than that. Many here will poo poo my truck, but for me, it accomplishes exactly what I want.

For me, 100k miles is a lot more 'valuable' than the mod package this truck comes with.

But if it's the truck that floats your boat, and you intend to keep it a number of years, overpaying a bit won't be a particular burden.

One benchmark to consider. Ask your insurance agent what the payout would be if you totaled it the next day. And ask a credit union what they'd be willing to finance. Those are typically represent some core value of the vehicle.

@Clearwater Bill, thanks for your input and definitely things to consider. And I get "poo'd" on plenty for my 2WD 4Runner- lol!

Seems high, but it does look good and tastefully done...

Oriojasjr, I have a white 2007 crew cab TRD off road SR5 with 99,600 miles on it. I'm hoping to get $19K for it. It has new (9,000 miles) 265/75/16 Hankook Dynapro Atm tires and alignment. New Optima yellow top battery (also 9,000 miles). It has the ARB winch bumper (no winch with it). If you are interested in it let me know. I plan on posting it on Tacoma World in the next few days. I'm waiting on the weather to clear up enough to go wash it and snap some pictures. You can get a hold of me here or at cowboy8_202007@yahoo.com. O yea, I'm in Colorado. Thanks.

@gregbrownlow, thanks but manual transmission is a no-go in Houston- traffic is horrendous! I really appreciate the offer and good luck with the sale. Interestingly enough, white is my first color choice- haha. I am holding off on the purchase. Still trying to sell my '05 Runner anyhow, as that sale will help fund the Tacoma purchase. But will still keep my eyes open.

    Thanks, all!
