I'm looking at the array of careers and I'm not seeing anything from this year about flying. Any pilots/aviation guys out there?

My mom is a charter pilot. If you ask her, she wouldn't recommend it. It doesn't pay a lot and she is gone 10 days at a time. Flying for an airline pays well, but you aren't home a lot either.

Tough job to have a family. Pay sucks starting out. Usually pushed to go beyond your comfort levels. Hardest easy job there is. That said, I wouldn't do anything else.

Owned an aircraft and flew for years but, only for personal use. I do have exposure to aviation as a career though....

Red Wing aero corp is the name I believe. They are always hiring, but you have to have some hours in a king air or similar to get a job like that. And a king air job isn't going to pay squat.

Flying is an interesting profession. Numerous forums out there, and each one is oriented to a different aspect. Student pilots, flight instructors, mechanics, charter pilots, airline pilots, etc....

At times it isn't easy, but I wouldn't do anything else. I fly professionally, but not for an airline, and it is a lot of fun.

Solo'd on my Sixteenth birthday, got my private license on my Seventeenth. Got my Tailwheel last month, taking aerobatics course in two weeks, and schedule to get my seaplane in May.

I'm accepted and planning to attend the Liberty University school of Aeronautics this fall semester. I eventually intend to work either at an airline or in aircraft sales.

I'm going to Patty Wagstaff's school in St. Augustine, Fl. I live right near Disney in Florida so it's only about a 2 hour drive.

The plane I'll be flying is a Super Decathlon. I got my tailwheel endorsement in a Bellanca Decathlon, so hopeful it'll be an easy transition.

In other words, best Christmas present ever!

I envy all of you. Getting my wings is on my list, just need to find the time (and money).

Ah nice, the 8KCAB is tame, you won't have any trouble. Citabria/ Decathlons roll slow - which make good clean rolls a challenge but a good airplane to learn in.

Aerobatics is blast. You'll enjoy it. I instruct in a Pitts in West Palm Beach, and have given instruction in the Bellanca/ American Champion line.

Hello fellow pilots. I fly a Citation Sovereign out of the Oakland. Just thought I'd say hi.

That's probibly the worst airplane I've ever had the pleasure of servicing on the ground. I still have nightmares about fueling that trunk tank (its even in a worse spot on the mu300), and that lav is horrible. They are nice and small and easy to fit into a hangar though!

I worked line service for 12yrs at various airports. The tail number on that c-680 looks very familiar. Now I'm a safety dude at an airline, i miss line service when I'm looking out my office and its sunny and 70, however (no offense lol) i do not miss dealing with most flight crews. My suggestion to the pilots are if you want great service at an FBO, drop a $20 to the first line guy you see, and they will basically be yours for the rest of the time you are there.
