im looking for an oem cd radio and tray and brackets (already posted in the I want stuff and buy/sell threads)

I want all oem and don't want to go with those cheap aftermarket din trays

if anyone has one they can donate or even sell please let me know

 

I posted in your other thread, i have a fully functional single din unit that you can have if you would like. I'll look for the tray i took out, but i don't think i kept it.

 

i actually have a single din Kentwood stereo with remote still in the closet from my old truck.

i pulled it to put the factory radio back in it

if you can find the tray, then that would be very helpful to me, then i can by the universal mounting brackets and i would only need to find just the cd radio then which is easier to find the the radio with tray

dang, i sure hope you find the tray for it, the tray is the best part.

radios are a dime a dozen but the oem tray is 1000% better quality by far (and bigger) then those cheap flimsy universal trays they sell

i like your switch panel, it looks nice. i never needed more switches but that one has a very nice "stock" look to it

 

after searching long and hard, I came to the realization that for the time being its best to just buy one of those aftermarket din trays and use the $100 single din kenwood stereo I already have in the closet that was pulled from my 99 truck when I bought it. good thing I never got around to selling it.

I still want a stock radio but my budget limit was around $30 plus shipping and the few I found cost $75-$100 so screw that, hell you can buy them new from Toyota for around $100 so why would I pay that for a salvaged radio?

I will keep looking for one when a parts truck pops up but until then i'll have to live with the flashy "disco" lights and too many buttons of my kenwood radio. its a nice radio but I like plain simple very user friendly design of oem

 

look for a 4runner radio too as I believe they are the same (94-02?). depending on year might be green and not orange

 

thanks, im definitely going to keep looking. im pretty sure all the single dins were the very basic green display and in 01 they went to the orange to match the new dash instruments colors

I cant handle all those buttons an options on the new radios not to mention the removable faces that in my opinion just cause bad or dirty connections over time
