That's priceless. A battery powered truck. And that they are surely aware most truck buyers do so mainly because of the additional cargo and towing capabilities.

No, we want a diesel powered tacoma.

Is it really that hard? I hope Chevy's diesel Colorado experiment kicks Toyota straight in the dick and makes them get their ass in gear

I hope they outlaw regular citizens to buy trucks and convert all vehicles to electric station wagons, The only people who can own a truck should have to pass a driving test with a specific work related permit.! o_O:thumbsup::rofl::bananadead:

I think a hybrid would be better in a light truck than a plug in electric

Kinda like the Hino diesel / electric hybrid cube truck that Toyota builds

    Purchase? Yes own? Negotiable.

Id trade the cost of initial purchase and fuel for greater economy, power, torque and longevity.

I'm awefully biased though seeing as that I work on diesels all day

You'd think that a hydrogen Tacoma would make more sense now with all the mirai bs shoved in our faces.

An electric Tacoma? That idea is comparable to a steel life jacket IMO. Just improve the MPG on the 4cyl. I wouldn't mind a diesel Tacoma. I'd certainly rather see that before an electric one. Just my 2 cents though.

Yes a diesel is a thousand fold more desirable to me than electric....I don't think we are ready for electric trucks

x129217 on a diesel although gotta admit it would be kinda cool to be rock climbing and having 100% torque at anytime, although right now electric cars are way to weak and expensive and have terrible range.

If the source of electricity was an on board gas or diesel generator, then yes. Like the way big mining equipment is powered. The technology has been in use for plenty long. There would be plenty of power available and you could get 75 - 100 mpg pretty easily.
