can you put the older black gauges in the 04 tacos?

got those ugly white gages and I want them gone.

can it be done?

the gage overlays I see out there only go up to the 200's and there is nothing for the 01-04 tacos anywhere that I can find.

is there anyone who does the instrument overlays for the 04 tacos?

 

Just swap in black gauges from an earlier model, they should be identical.

 

so it doesn't matter if the battery, oil, and other lights are missing from the other gages?

 

When I had my 2000 tacoma with stock black gauges I wanted the 01-04 white gauges. I swapped instrument clusters with another member on here and it worked fine. Just make sure your engine and transmission type are the same. If I recall correctly, you can just swap out the odometer unit so your mileage info stays correct.

 

Funny... i love my white gauges. Oh well, to each their own!

 

I don't love them but I am getting used to them now, actually easier to read too.

the biggest thing that made me hate them was everything glowing redish orange at night and I found out I can make it any color I want so i'll stick with the white gages and just do the gage cluster light mod on it.

I thought I had shown a link to them somewhere in a thread for somebody but when I searched for it again I couldnt find it and the places I did find taco gage faces, they only went up to the 00 models and all the 01-04 models were shown as "not listed"

I would have ordered it right away if I hadn't seen the gage light mod, I like that look a lot so I decided that's the way im going to go with it so in a way im glad I wasn't able to find that link before but you nailed it and found exactly what I was looking for when I created this thread so thank you for that
