My OEM leafs are just about flat so I'm buying the Dakar with 5100 for the rear. I have a 1" block on the rear currently and wondered if it will hurt to keep the block on to add to the Dakar lift. I plan to do the 3* shims to help with vibes. If I do the block (~4" lift) will i need anything else for the rear? Maybe extended brake lines.

    Thanks

Don't keep the block it just adds more axle wrap. If you want that much more lift get the AAL put in the leaf packs. Also you absolutely will need extended brake lines with the Dakar pack let alone if you keep the block.

    Thanks for the Input

I'll keep the block out and run the Dakars. If i want more height I'll get an AAL.

I have a 2 inch block and 1.5 inch AAL in the back, it works just fine. The brake line did not require replacement.

A pro shop did this for me a few weeks ago with full warranty. I doubt they would do that if they thought my brake like would bust, and there is plenty of slack in the line (I trust them, they lift hundreds of trucks a year). Then again, mine went up 3.5 not 4.

I would leave the block in and try it out. If it doesn't work, no big deal, take em out.

The Dakar springs flex enough that you want the brake lines. Marshall, You're setup is probably maxing out your lines at full droop. You don't want your brake lines experiencing that kind of stress. If you wheel, do the lines. Brakes are kinda important. I got the lines from the group buy on here and they are easy to change if you're handy with a wrench.

Ohh yeah definitely take the block out, if not it'll lift you 5+ inches in the rear.

They are easy to switch out just need one other person for when you bleed the brakes.
