Hey yall the Razorback Ramble in Hot Springs in June 4th - 7th. I'll most likely be going to this if anyone wants to tag along.

Damn! This looks awesome! I like the guided trail on the 2 and 3 star trails. This will be the first trip in the taco, so would be nice to do this. I might have to re-think our wheeling trip. Too bad you have drill, Rut!

It would be one or the other for me as well. Do you have any specific links to a trail map for the overland trail? I'll do some googling but didn't know where the meet up point would be, early exit point on saturday (since I'd be going back on saturday). I'll check out the Razorback Ramble as well.

It's a dirt road service road that gets washed out.

Walt/Sean, what are you guys leaning towards doing? Our own thing, or the Rumble?

I'd like to get a date set. Doesn't seem like we have any other interest besides Rut if we go the 12th.

Currently the overland high wark - trail you listed, though I'd be looking for a spot to cut out on saturday - the map you linked to shows a a few spots where it crosses highway, so it looks like I could. only bummer being that I'd be missing out on the prettiest part - the Buffalo River. My family is camping out on the Buffalo River next week. I LOVE that area. My main concern would be the water crossings with all the recent rain - but I'll be able to see the water level on the Buffalo when I'm there next week.

The Rumble sounds really fun - I've wanted to go to the OR park there, but the I'd only be there Fri night and Saturday so that would be a quick turn around as well. I got to take the boat to Lake Ouachita last year and loved it - Very pretty area

Really it boils down to cost - the overland trail we are out gas and food - The Rumble there are other fees - small I'm sure compared to other events, but I'm into cheap vacations / trips for a while.

The free aspect is definitely nice about the overland trail. The event is $50, and camping is $15 per night. So for two nights we are looking at $80, plus gas, and food for the second night (first night includes a meal ticket).

Definitely let us know about the water levels. I'm thinking they are going to be pretty high right now with all of our rain, but it might give us an idea of what we'll be facing. I know most of us (if any) don't have snorkels, and I'm not hydro locking! I definitely need to do the rear dif breather mod before then, no matter the water height. Just changed fluids, so I want to keep it clean.

I'm calling on camping spots right now just to check on availability for the Ramble. Again, for me the main reason I want to try the park is because it has rocks, trails, hills, etc. and they do a "beginners" run. But then again, just because the event is in June doesn't mean we can't camp there in the future with the OK Yotas group.

@Sje1124 What are you thinking camping-wise? You still thinking the Ramble?

Oh, and the forums that guys were in talking about the trail, there are several spots to exit throughout the trail. So you definitely won't get locked in.

Saw the FB post - good point about the Rumble being once a year - I'm probably still out, but don't let that stop you and Sean and whoever else.

Well I'm thinking about doing the overland trail. Walt/Sean/rut, you guys still in if we camp the 12th? Want to go ahead and set this in stone?

Alright. Looks like we are camping/wheeling the 12th at the high water mark June 12th through the weekend. I'm in, and sounds like Rut is and maybe Walt? Anyone else up for a weekend trip? Primitive camping along the trail, so food and gas is a must. There are many places to bail looking at the map. I'll be heading up Friday after work and staying through the weekend. This is my first real trip, so others that are skeptical, bring it on as I'm a "newbie" as well.

Is everyone going to have a cb? Who all has what for recovery gear? I'm installing my winch next Friday if time allows.

I don't have a cb, only some short range walkies. Recovery right now is just a tow strap. But I'm ordering a snatch strap this week, along with some other little items for the trip.

Ok I should have enough recovery gear in the case we need it.
