So, I drive a '13 Texas Edition (not sure if that changes anything). Drivers side front door speaker went out (they were still stock at this time) and I figured i just blew it out. So I got the mounting adapters and wire adapters you need for the 6x9 speakers from *********.com, and installed the speakers. The left speaker (brand new) still ain't working. It has a very low volume, muted-fuzzy like sound to it, but it wont work. I also have the stock head unit (57053). Other than the after-market speakers in the front doors, I haven't done anything with the audio system (no amps, or subs). Is this a fuse problem? Maybe wiring? I have no idea...Any help or knowledge would be greatly appreciated!!

    Yes. It's centered between Front-Back/Left-right.

It could be a wire problem, particularly where the wire goes to the door (it can fatigue and break). Or it can be an amp problem inside the radio where the output transistor(s) for that channel have developed some sort of problem. A bad transistor can cause exactly that kind of reduced output that is fuzzy/distorted. That would mean a radio fix or replacement.

If all other speakers work, you have a ground or short in the wiring to that specific speaker. I've had this problem myself in a few vehicles. Did you replace the wiring as well?

Still under warranty? If yes take it back to the dealer. You say you don't know anything about Stereos... If the warranty is out take it to an audio shop.

It is still under warranty, but wouldn't the warranty for the audio system be voided since i took out the old speakers? I threw them away because they were cheap cardboard-quality speakers

Did you try wiring up to your OTHER door speaker? If it's still muted and fuzzy sounding then you know it's a bad head unit or amp. You have a JBL?

I tried putting the right speaker on the left door, and got the same results, so I know its the left side, not this speaker. Also, I dont know what a JBL is. But this is the stereo I have.

I'd check the wiring. Maybe one of the wires was pinched or grounded?

I'd give them a chance if you don't figure it out. The speakers you installed are plug and play, You didn't cut any wires.

I'm assuming they will tell you you did void your warranty for not bringing it to them first, but it is worth a shot. On top of that, that is a ground or a short in the wiring to the speaker.

Try plugging the factory tweeter back in and see if it works

I haven't messed with the tweeters but I'll definitely check the tweeter and all the wiring to see if there's any ground or loose problems.

Im having the same issue. I have a 2011 with JBL. I was under the impression that I could swap the speakers and it would be plug and play. Did I do something wrong?
