This may be obvious to some but does anyone know where I could get a hold of some scrap steel? Like the kind of steel that our frames are made out of. Thanks in advance

Find a mobile home place they usually tear apart old trade in's and scrap the frames.

Check your local yellow pages (or intarwebz listings of the same) for recycling centers. 90% of the time, you can go there and find the raw materials you're looking for, though often not for free

Depending where you live and just how much you need.

The local fab shops can be a great source some are real good with this others don`t want to be bothered .

    It never hurts to ask.

Industrial scrap dealers are ok but prices can be top dollar .

Sometimes they end up with a fab shops metal inventory bought at auction .

You want something that has some life left not a big piece of rust.
