So about 7 weeks ago I broke my finger and ruptured the tendon, at my 1 week check up the break was not healing correctly so they had to re-break it and re-set it. 5 weeks after that, when I thought I was done healing, it turned out things got worse. Over that time the build up of scar tissue had subluxed my digits. (not in a straight line) This was causing my bones to grind on each other as I moved my finger. So yesterday they opened me up, scraped out the scar tissue, re-attached the tendon and put 3 pins in the bones to align it properly. Between the combined experience of the Dr.s and the PA's they had never seen anything like it. Usually it is out of alignment when you first break it, never have they seen it the other way around.

They filmed the operation to use as an example for future breaks like mine if they ever occur. I felt like I was in a freak show. If you want to see a general example of what they did, search YouTube for "mallet finger surgery". It is pretty graphic! I told the Dr. I watched one on YouTube and he said that any of those would be much less extensive than mine, then giggled mischievously....

Moral of the story, be careful when you are giving the ladies the shocker!
