I run E load range Falken Wild Peaks 265-75-16. I love them. Got them cheap too. $400 bucks on Craigslist with less them 3000 miles on them.

Ply rating equivalence, you just mention the reason why I put the link down to the reference that explain what it is. No point to prove here IMO.

I went from D rated 265/75/16 Dunlops to E rated 265/75/6 BFG AT's and felt no difference in ride quality whatsoever, an no difference in power reduction due to increased weight of tires. I ran the Dunlops at recommended pressure of 51psi on all four, and I run about 34psi on the BFG's, which is well under recommended pressure, but my truck is a little reg cab. I chalked the tires to find the optimal contact patch at various inflation pressures and stuck with the pressure that worked best for my trucks weight.

What do you think about airing down an e tire. I have a 06 prerunner used as a weekend toy and so cal desert truck. Good traction is a must for me in sand and hill climbing situations. Do you think an e tire will negatively effect performance in these conditions as compared to a c tire? The e tires im considering would be toyo mt, baja claw ttc, bfkm2, general grabber red. I use my truck in so cal desert and mountains. I do enjoy driving fast, come from car racing background so im usually driving with oversteer and tire spin, which i think an e tire will put up with better.

Im asking for your opinions, observations, and experiences especially if used a lot in sand or loose rock trails
