I'm new here..................I wanted to know if anyone had their frame replaced ? I have a 2005 tacoma 4x4 with 185,000 miles, never had any issues besides general maintance, but I got a recall notice so I brought it to the dealer.

The dealer found a 1 inch rust hole in my frame, they want too replace the frame, Did anyone on here have this problem, if so could you point me to the post..............

I'm not to keen on letting the dealer take appart my truck , I don't think it will be right when their done with it.

    Thanks,
    Spicer

    First, welcome to TW!

Second, if you do a wee bit of searching, the frame rust & replace topic has been done a couple of times already, to be polite about wording. Search is your friend here, mate!

Otherwise, make the appointment and let them do the work. It's kinda important.

    Thanks Xaks,
They called today because my new frame is in after waiting 6 months, but I'm worried about getting it back after my truck drives like it came off the show room floor......... I'm just worried it will drive like a ford, chevy or dodge when I get it back!
    Cheers Mate!

I wouldn't worry all that much. However, it might be a good idea to bring your concerns up with the service manager. Ask him to ride with you in the cab around the block and point out specifically what you're referring to as far as ride quality, so if you get the truck back and its all rattley, you have a shared point of reference.

    Just thinkin' out loud :)

Besides, if it ran like a chevy or dodge, you wouldn't get it out of the service bay under its own power anyways ;)

I just went to the Toyota, dealer Vineland NJ, I addressed my concerns with the Manager, I'm glad your thinking out loud, when I bring it in ,I'll take him for a drive, like you said!
