03 5spd v6. Getting a new noise chirping sound reminiscent of a slipping belt. Sound is best heard on driver side from underneath the car out of the engine bay. Belts have just been changed have good tension. Sound started as the temperatures in Boston started coming back. Sound rate is relative to revs and responds to throttle and is present during driving and idling in and out of gear. Sound dissapears when clutch is depressed. TOB? Idler? Any clues?

Cmon! Where are all the shade tree mechanics at? A whistling chirp just like a warped disk hitting a pad so it increases with speed. Sound is present when the car is and isn't moving and disappears when I depress the clutch pedal. Who's got ideas?

I'm not familiar with your transmission, but I had a Sonoma with a chirping sound similar to yours. It turned out to be the clutch fork/pivot ball being dry. Applied grease to it and the sound went away.

Great suggestions! I will look up the DIYs the TB and pivot ball. Hopefully something will work because I'm tired of pretending the sound isn't annoying and turning up the music.

we have a winner. Aught2Taco wins with a blast of lithium spray lube onto fork pivot. All chirps and squeaks gone. Thanks all.

Woohoo! Good to hear it was a cheap fix, glad to help Assforkr! Cranking the jams can be for pleasure now instead of noise cancelling.

Are you kidding? I've spent two days driving in silence and loving it. 8)
