    I recently got a 08 4 door Tacoma TRD 6cyl with 33" tires, 6" fabtech lift.

I noticed when I let off the gas at almost any speed over 20 the truck rumbles from the rear of it. Kinda sounds like thunder in the distance. I looked at my carrier bearing on the drive shaft and theirs way tons of play in it so I believe that's my problem as far as that goes but I'd like a second opinion. It does have some spacers to lower the bearing down for better drive shaft angles. I think the drive shaft is just flopping around in the bearing. I can push up a good half inch if not more on the drive shaft by the bearing. Lots of play.

Secondly, my transfer case is leaking from either the rear case cover or the drain plug (maybe both). I know it looks like someone took a water hose with gear oil and sprayed it under the truck. I cleaned the area and will look tomorrow to see If i can tell exactly where it's coming from. Looked online to find a gasket set for the cover but haven't had much luck. Most transfer case pictures I see it looks like they use red rtv gasket maker on there.

Thirdly, What is the little metal flap under the bell housing (I think) between the engine and transmission. I think I read something about it being a inspection panel or something maybe? Looks like I have a little oil coming from there or the oil pan (haven't quiet found out where yet).

My first Tacoma and already having a bunch of stuff going wrong on it. Kinda depressing seeing as Toyotas are known for reliability haha.

Anyways, any help for any of these three questions would be much appreciated.

    Thanks! Cody.

The CB is supposed to have lots of play the rubber is very plyable. If it is bad, you will not be able to tell by looking or feeling it.

That is the inspection port as well as being the access point to get to the torque converter bolts when removing the transmission. Most likely have a rear engine seal leak.
