A couple months ago my manual 96 2.7L 4 cyl. started to randomly not start. Most of the time it would start just fine, other times it would just make a clicking/buzzing sound and never turn over. Took it to my cousins shop, he couldn't get the problem to happen to him so he just replaced the starter based on what I told him. Worked great until this past Sunday it did it again. Has nothing to do with the battery, radio and everything comes on if I leave key in on position. Tried using the clutch cancel start, still same problem.
When it first started doing this, I could let it sit for a minute to an hour after not starting and try again, and it would start right up and run perfectly normal.
It's going back to my cousins shop tomorrow. Just looking to see if anyone knows exactly what is wrong or has the same problem. Any help is much appreciated.

Replace the battery cables. They may look fine but if you peel the insulation off I bet they are corroded. The positive side goes straight to the starter, and wraps around the front of the oil pan in a plastic wire loom. Removing the skid plate will make this a fairly easy job. Replace the ground cable as well.

^^^ this sounds like a bad connection. just because the radio works doesn't mean there isn't some kind of issue with battery. it is under much more load when you try to start the car. id clean terminals and connections and rre tighten, if that doesn't work replace the cables

Found out the ground wire was loose, which explains the buzzing sound from the electricity working its way backwards.

    Thanks for the advice
