Factory door panels have shiny spots? (new truck)

Hi guys, I hopped in the back of my truck today only to realize that the door panels were a lot different than the panels on my front doors. I'm referring to the panel on the top of the interior side of the door, with the little faux holes in it.

Anyway, the panels on both driver and passenger side are mostly flat finished (a little rough, not shiny), but they both have numerous shiny spots where it looks like the plastic was rubbed to the point that it smoothed out the matte finish. Now, the rear panels don't look like this. Keep in mind my truck has just over 100 miles on it, garage kept.

Do any of you guys have spots like this? My truck is factory tinted...do you think they sprayed something that possibly damaged the panels? Are the panels easy to replace if I choose to do so?

    Thanks in advance guys. :)

I've seen that on mine here and there, and it's only 2 weeks old, less than 300 miles garage kept. I was wiping the interior down with my damp absorber and it seemed to help. Have not noticed it since. maybe it's just someones oily skin from test drives etc? Gross I know.. but what else could it be?

I have the same shiny patches on my new 2013 top black door trim too. Passenger side only. Looks like a grease smudge.

Maybe it was something in the mold for the part, or excess mold release.

Tried cleaner and armorall -- did not remove it. Oh well. Not a great look but I don't want to make it worse.

If anybody has a solution, let me know.

My 2012 has same problem, also wiper cowl. It is poor quality control on the plastic mold injector. If you look real close, you can see a lite hint of red. They didn't mix the plastic pellets very well, before injection process.

Thanks for the replies. Good to know its not self-inflicted or something the detail shop/previous owner screwed up. Just got the '13 Tacoma last week with 2700 miles on it.

Just something we can't do much about.

Same here. 2013 model. It appears to be slowly disappearing as I clean it.

Brons what cleaner/cloth are you using?

I have not tried anything other than a mild soap or armor all with a terry towel. I want to stay away from MEK and scotchbrite for now:p

New poster to the board. I have been reading lots on the site, since I purchased my 2015 tacoma in January. My truck has these markings as well. I thought it was from the dealership, thinking they got tire dressing on the door panel. I was wrong, since it seems you guys have this issue as well.

What do you guys use to protect the dash and panels?

My 2015 DCSB has the same thing, there's a couple on the panels, kinda annoying but they won't come off

Has anyone tried the hair dryer / heat gun trick on these panels to see if it evens it out?

I'm having my upper dark gray part of the door panels covered in a synthetic perforated to match leather. That will take care of that once and for all. That mold release and the funky dimples look like shit!

I was wondering if anyone had tried the heat gun or hair dryer trick out of curiosity though. May work?
