Del sols are fun little cars. Had the 94 VTEC model with factory B16A3 DOHC VTEC 160 HP. Engine looked excellent when I had it open for timing belt job at 161k. The ~8300 rpm red line didn't hurt either lol. The D16Y7 and D16Y8 "vtec" are good motors too.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
The scout 1/80 is the best one out there, minus the pain in the ass oil bath carburetor.

My first car was a 1985 Nissan Sunny Wagon. Mum's car, then my brothers, then mine (and we weren't easy on it being teenagers). Never had any problems.. man we did some stuff in that car. Did some big miles. Then Dad took it as a beach car..it got rusted out so he gave it up for free if anyone could tow it. Had been sitting for about 3 months and a guy came up grab the keys turned it over and drove it out the gate. Thing refused to die.

Recently I bought a Toyota Matrix AWD with 160k on it. Friends thought I had brought a new car is how well this thing had been taken care of, first aid kid was still sealed in plastic. Thing runs like new, and even with the 10k pretty hard miles (forest, BLM roads etc to climbing spots) it's still purring.

Fully expect it to get to 299k (apparently the odometer stops on these at 300). And I will only ever buy Toyota from now on. Love it.

I had an Infiniti G35 that I sold with 200k on the odo. Would be up there on my 'most reliable' list except that I had to replace the valve covers the year before I got rid of it (leaking, and the seals were integrated) and the A/C pulley fell off one day and the entire compressor had to be replaced.

Top honor probably goes to my 94 Toyota 4x4 V6. Other than the dreaded head gasket problem (replaced free by Toyota past the warranty period), I had no issues with it. I had it for about 100k miles, 'wheeled it all over southern California, and it got to enjoy a couple Colorado winters and it always performed like a champ.

probably my 08 tacoma. bought it new and have just over 250,000kms on it. other than wheel bearings, cvs and a the breaks being done 5 or 6 times its been great. never left me stranded.

my first truck was a 98 s10 2wd. had it from 2002-2007 and had to replace the wiper motor and idler pulley. i rat bagged the shit out of it too. would love to buy another for a daily once i have my tacoma paid off end of this year.

I won't say the Tacoma is my most reliable just yet, its still new, but I do expect it to be.

Right now, I will say my old 1984 Camaro, 2010 Jetta 2.5, and my 1988 Mustang LX have been the most reliable cars.

My Camaro I drove all through high school. Snow, rain, sun; it ran like a champ. Only issue was it needed a fuel pump. I drove it long distance to look at colleges. Had roughly 150,000 miles when I sold it.

My 2010 Jetta also was a great little car. It was originally my wifes old car, but I drove it until I traded it for the Tacoma. The Jetta took a beating and never quit. With snow tires, it was a monster in the snow. I even had it on coilovers and never got stuck here in the last 2 Chicago winters. Had 50,000 miles when I traded it.

My 1988 Mustang. Owned it for 11 years and never had an issue. Sure, I rarely drive it now, but it always starts. I actually commuted in it 100 miles round trip for 9 months when I first bought it. Bad gas mileage and uncomfortable, but it never failed. Has roughly 180,000 miles on stock motor.

2003 Ford Ranger 4x4 3.0 5 Speed extend cab. Truck was so tough. I had the truck 3 days with under 500 miles on it when I first took it into the woods. Went a little deep in a water hole and ended up with a cab half full of water. Never an issue. Had water in everything.

Hit more deer than I can count. Ran that stupid truck harder than any truck ever deserved. Went over 300k miles when it spun a rod bearing(2007). Next owner put a new motor in it, repaired the front end damage I stopped repairing it after awhile and ran it. I haven't seen it for a couple years though.

The only repairs I did was front sway bar links, tires, brakes, and oil changes.

It was a superb truck. If Ford would ever release the Ranger or a Ranger sized truck I would be first in line to trade my Tacoma for it.

Hmm. I'd have to say it was my Kawasaki 1500 Vulcan. Had it for 5 years and put 50k miles on it with out any problems. As far as cages go, every car and truck have had minor mechanical faults. We now have a Prius and a Tacoma. So far both have not had any mechanical failures. I did have the wheel alignment checked and ajusted in the Tacoma.

    Too few to list.
Most reliable vehicles I've owned was any of my Honda's as well. Aside from a faulty TPMS sensor from one of the civic's, they all have held up pretty well.

ive owned 5 vehicles in my life. in order, 2004 Daewoo Lanos (i know, no need to say anything...), 2010 DCSB tacoma, 2011 XRunner, 2010 Evo X, 2014 DCSB Tacoma.

i may be slightly biased lol, but the tacomas have never let me down ever. even the xrunner, which had every power mod imaginable (from supercharger to walbro fuel pump) and i beat the crap out of that truck for 40k miles and nothing broke ever. the Evo X broke within the first 500 miles i owned it (the MAF got cooked, under warranty)

    So i vote Tacoma

96 Ranger off road package, 120k and all I did besides fluids & filters was replace the 4WD motor, which was my fault for not using it for a while. NEVER should have sold it, but now I have a Taco so...

06 Scion xA with 90k, have done nothing but fluids, filters and front brakes.

1980 Vespa P200 with untold mileage. Left gas in the tank and didn't ride it for three years. Put in a new battery and it fired on the second kick. Has never let me down, though I did rebuild the engine in 2003.

So far it was my 2004 Tacoma. It was my first vehicle, and the one I learned how to drive with a manual trans. I abused the hell out of it in my high school days. It never skipped a beat. Unfortunately though, at 165,000 miles, stuff started going wrong. The 2nd gear syncro was going out, the ignition was going out, and the paint was literally falling off of it. I started noticing rust developing where the paint had fallen off. I decided that the cost to fix everything was at least as much if not more than the whole truck was worth...so it got traded in about a month ago. Was a sad day.

2003 GMC Yukon with 5.3 L iron block. A/C compressor replaced replaced under warranty, 3 DRL light bulbs. 2 batteries ,,and oil/filter changes.

Not bad for a 12 year old American vehicle.

My Taco is a 2015 with only 1700 miles so it doesn't qualify.

    Dude, that's a sweet ride!

I had a 91 pickup for many years that was very reliable, very little maintenance. The 22r family of engines are great!

My Unicycle. Few moving parts. Drove it around Spain for a year. Good times.

Silly post BTW. Gonna last for years here and not do anything to improve the TW forum. In IT we all it a storage stupidity issue. Like the Kardashians. Who gives a shit?

Have a box that has collected dust for 20 years, it still works, I just checked it.

Why do they call it the Department of the Interior when they are in charge of everything outdoors?

You do know the National boundaries of the USA are called the 'Interior' Thus you loose the concept when you could read the history of the USA vs a silly uniformed post. Stay away from Facebook, it's for the uninformed idiots. Read, become informed. What year was the Interior Department formed? Hmmm? March 3, 1849. History, not Facebook etc.

Read and learn, that's what we have a mind for. Back then there was no 'interior like malls, your AC truck etc. Everything was outdoors. This was after this historic journey. Maybe watch the 4 hour video by Ken Buns will open your eyes. We knew nothing about our lands back then, it was the interior, no white god fearing white killing machine had visited these places that were empowered by the early USA gov, so we explored and killed in time everyone that got in our way.

Bless the USA, I plan to retire where Lewis and Clark promised parity between tribes in Eastern Washington. Hehe, I win. Decent home costs and legal pot. WIN for me!

My 04 GTO. 120k and some change when it retired from daily use. Over 11 years of service. Lots of mods and fun on the way, but the only NECESSARY repairs:
    -Radiator
-Driveshaft (2 piece was OEM, carrier bearing died)
    -Throttle Position Sensor, $20 fix

Overall, less than $1000 worth of repairs needed in its life. It would have been under $500 if I went with OEM parts, but I figured I might as well upgrade things as I pull them out:bananadance:
