Hellz yeah SS arc weld will hold up! I have welded so much of my stuff including my mini bikes and my exhaust with my puny little 110v welder and SS rods and I am so very impressed to say the least. As long as you use the biggest rods that your welder is rated for, it will match tig work any day. And regarding grinding the inner header slag... go for it dude. It definetely won't hurt anything.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg For those who aren't subscribed to Josh's thread, I replaced my wastegate bolts with 8mm hex head bolts (m8 1.25 thread x 50mm bolts) because these CX headers don't give any room for a standard socket to tighten down the passenger side wastegate screw while the headers and wastegate are already in the vehicle. The combination of hex bolts and ball head hex extended sockets make it way too simple to take the wastegate on and off.

And also an update on my wastegate vac line situation. I made a compromise with everyone's concern for my diagram's damage due to the force of intake vacuum and my stubbornness for runnin it post TB by throwing a check valve in there so that the WG only sees boost but at the same time opens up when I want it to. Turns out my wastegate has the tiniest little microscopic bit of space internally where the air can escape to and from (probably escaping out of the threads of a screw or something). It wasn't enough to throw off my AFRs or do anything that would even come close to affecting my check engine light or even boost gauge readings, but it is enough to let the boost pressure out of the wastegate that can't get passed the check valve now so that the wastegate closes when it's supposed to. *best of both worlds*

Sounds like a great solution. Good job man. I'm going to check which bolts I have. I may already have hex head.

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
I wouldn't run a check valve. If it fails you can overboost. If you see even a little on compression surge, you can get in a lot of trouble.

Running post TB is not going to damage the WG. The reason you run it at the turbo vice anywhere else is you are trying to regulate the turbo's boost exactly. Boost at the Turbo and boost in your intake manifold is not equal.

I'm not worried about it. My eyes stay glued to the wideband and boost gauge anytime I'm in boost.

Those engines are mad expensive, every part on them. No thanks. Would rather do a Lexus V8 or something.

So much support for them though. Yeah every part for them is expensive, but you can practically find every part you'd ever need at the dollar store (ok slightly exaggerated). It probably takes less time, hassle and money to get a 2jz to 600+ WHP than it does a 5vz. For 400 WHP and lower though, yeah 5vz all day.

    Needing advice Gio....

Wanting to tap into some sort of a throttle voltage that will allow my meth to be incrementally increased. So as I give it more gas, the methanol pump increases. Any suggestions?

Oh, and my tires would break loose in second gear easily when boost hits.

The throttle position sensor reference wire's voltage goes up and down from 1~v to 5v depending on how open the TB is

Going to run off maf. What devils own suggested but I'm not sure which wire. I'm getting weird readings off all of the even when I Rev the engine.

And we can hook up the obd2 adapter to yours too to see what's going on.

I can't afford to throw money at this truck till at least Friday. The sucker won't rev above 4k rpms and sounds like total crap. Sputters like porky pig on a bad day. I wouldn't even want to risk driving to your place. Gotta drive the 4Runner this week

Is that what you need? Did yours just go out? Is that the only code you threw? Man. At least you have a backup vehicle. So happy I didn't blow my engine.......

Yeah. I have to take so much crap off the engine to get to the sensor and ain't nobody got time for that.
I knew for your truck it was something simple. Even a wicked misfire at 4 psi would struggle to put a 5vzfe in the grave
