Here are some pics. Rides like a new truck. There is some weird squeak/chirp that I can't pinpoint. Wondering if it's from the new leafs?!?

Dealer first looked at my truck in November 2014. Received a call on May 12, 2015 that frame was in. Took the truck in later that same day. Picked it up two days later. Seems good so far. No issues so far with any of the work they did. They had about eighteen frames to do, between December and May, before mine was done. So I guess they had plenty of practice.

This is one of the few reasons I'm glad to not have been first in line. Let them screw up a few trucks and hopefully by the time they get to mine the process will be solid.

I agree with you, after reading multiple posts here, I really doubt the timeframe I was given is accurate. At least I got to keep the truck as it wasn't deemed unsafe to drive. Service rep said thought they had over 20 trucks ahead of mine.

I picked up my truck again yesterday, windshield was replaced and it was detailed. They did the frame, leaf springs, etc. Still not happy with the service dept, so I'll have to find a new dealer to go to. Overall, my experience with the service dept was poor, and I had to do to all the follow up, instead of them giving me periodic updates. Still waiting to hear from corporate, but I don't expect to get any results from them.

    Well THAT sucks.

I was hoping that the 09's would be spared, but no such luck.

I don't know if I would sand blast and expose the rest of the frame, but I can understand your desire to remove the lousy coating.

I myself will be spot treating any rusty areas, and adding paint/coating to the areas that have not yet corroded. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst I guess.

I've done lots of rust repair and restore on commercial vehicles through my sandblasting job. once the coating starts to fail it's only a matter of time before the rest fails. Removing the entire failed coating is the only way to repair it. I plan to apply a 2 part epoxy marine coating that we've used before with great success on dock pontoons.

I've always been cautious on using anything that thickly coats. Rubber/ tar and encapsulation coverings are great until they open from a coating crack, rock/impact damage, etc. One Water gets in behind the coating it's trapped there and can do more damage that just get worse over time. I prefer an anti rust paint or a non hardening solution (i.e. Fluid film and I think the CRC coating as well ?). JMHO

It's called cold tar it's a two part epoxy. Sandblasting is required to apply it properly. And it'll need to be thinned as its 80% solid in the can. Sprayers have a hard time with it.

This isn't really a rubbery material not like an elastimeric paint which yes I agree will fail if something gets behind it. It's just a really solid coating I attacked it with a hammer to show a customer how good it was. Yes dragging it over rocks will probably rub it off but I feel as long as you touch it up it should be fine. Better than the oem coating at least. Keep in mind I get this stuff for free so it definitely isn't cheap and it's a heavy industrial coating so it's not sold to the public at least not in Canada

Does anyone know if sliders (weld on or bolt on) will disqualify you from a full frame replacement if it is rusted out?

Wondered the same thing. Just welded on 4xinovation sliders last week. Got a letter yesterday regarding frame inspection. I live in Western Wa and not a spec of rust I can see so doesn't seem necessary to bring it in but also says it needs to be inspected by March 2016 to qualify so I may just to see what they say.
