Toyota started leaking information on the Gen 3 six months ago. They obviously know what the HP is for this truck why are they waiting soooo long to give us the numbers. GM released their numbers along with everything else. This is really getting old.

That and MPG is really all we are waiting on of significance.

They already said towing is "right around 6800 lbs."

Thanks for contributing to this thread. There are many people that are very interested to know what the HP, TQ, and MPG figures will be on the new Tacoma.

Don't hold your breath. Engine specs are withheld as long as possible. Do you really think they want to give Nissan a power target to meet this early on? Expect #'s weeks or even days before launch. Ford withheld specs from the 2015 as long as they could.

I doubt the truck will have 300hp . I would say more in the 270-280 hp and maybe the same torque numbers as the current one! - My opinion

Is it because no one cares, or because this topic has been beaten to death already? How many threads have already discussed this? You're pretty ignorant if you think no one cares what the specs of the '16 Tacoma will be. Oh, and please explain how the old 4.0 L V6 was "manly" and the new 3.5 L V6 is "girly."

    ^This^ lol
People just can't get over the fact that Toyota went down from a 4.0 to a 3.5... I wouldn't care if the damn truck had a 1.6L 3 cylinder as long as it performed well. Bigger isn't always better... Look at Chevy's old 4.3L V6. While it is a decent motor, their current 3.5L in the Colorado far outperforms it.

Wow, a little grammar goes a long ways in trying to communicate one's thoughts to another person. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that your education was a little stunted.

Wow, nice comparison there. 4.3L 190 HP and 260 torque from 1994 to a modern 306 HP direct injected V6. How about we compare the 3.6L to the new 4.3L which has 285 hp at much lower rpm than the 3.6L and 305 torque at 3,900.

Seems to me that the 3.6L is better suited in a van or small SUV and there's a reason the 4.3L is in the bigger Silverado.

    Dual VVTi 4.0L with a 6-speed auto > "new" 3.5L Tacoma.

Some people have to make up for inadequacies...I kinda wish they went back to making mini-trucks. Nothing to prove here. ;)
