I thought I recognized that spot. Kyle tried to get over that rock in front of you and caught his drop bracket.

Hey Guys! I have just broke the helper spring on the driver side for the third time. The truck has around 205,000 miles on it. I use it everyday for work and regularly has 450# to 500# in the bed. Sometimes more and sometimes pull a 4'x6' trailer with 300# or more on it. I know I need to at least replace the helper springs. I have added timbriens to the rear about a mounth ago, and they helped alot.
Question, should I just replace the helper srings or is there something better that I should do?

Thank you for any advice and helpful imput!

Check out wheelersoffroad. I had their Dakar leafs on my 07 and my 95.5 and they are beefy as hell. You may want to give them a call though, the ones i got gave the ass end 4" of lift also.

Thanks David. I did talk with Dan at wheelers, and he suggested their 5 leaf pack. He thought it would sit pretty level loaded and maybe 1.5-2" unloaded. Then may have to do something to the front to balance it out. Like some 5100's set at .85 or 1.75. What do you think?

5100's ride pretty rough when you tighten them up, depends if you mind a stiff ride or not. If you're looking to throw some cash at it, wheelers also sells pre-assembled Old Man Emu shocks and larger springs that ride like a dream (also what I had).

I've read that a lot on the forms. I figured it would be better to do new coils over turning. I didn't know they had pre-assembled ones. I like that idea! I'm not sure if I want it any higher that stock, because I work it for it everyday. Also with 200,000+ miles on it, I don't want to get into wearing out anyother components any faster than I have to.
    How did your truck ride?

Rode better than stock. You can buy different stiffness springs depending on what you want out of them. I believe i had the 883's.

thought you were running the 884's dave? 885's are typically what most guys with double cabs run or some access and single cab guys run them too, then 886's are for when you have extra weight for things like a plate bumper or winch. I have run a wide array of front setups. Brian can tell you, he helped me swap out most of them! hahaha! anything from spacers to 5100's to 5100's with eibach springs to ome 885's to ome 886's and now to king ext travel 2.5 remote resi coilovers. I will second dave though, if you don't go full coilover, something like king icon or fox, then I would recommend OME.

I would suggest however Toytec or Downsouth though for prebuilt. much cheaper if I recall than wheelers. and wheelers will tend to stick you with outrageous shipping charges.

I think you're right, may have been 885's. Because I wanted the lift that they gave.

Anyone have a rugged trail tire laying around?

I had a screw in mine had 16k miles on it so I pulled my spare off since it was new and threw it on the rim. I now need a spare I didn't feel like spending 200 bucks on a crap tire so I went this route.
