Anyone use the BFG KM2 as a daily driver?

Right now, I've got the 265/75/16 Cooper Discover ATP's and they're great, but I plan on going up to something closer to a 33" eventually. My first choice is the 255/85/16 BFG KM2 because of its offroad reviews and the sheer badassness of how they look. My second choice is a 285/85/16 all-terrain.

I drive 100 miles, round trip 3 days a week. Other than that, I drive less than 5 miles per day.

So, @ 300-400 miles a week, do you think the KM2 is a bad choice? The only factor I care about is how long they'll last...I don't care about noise or anything else. If I can get over 30k out of them, I'll be happy.

I was kinda hoping this would have gotten a few answers. I am interested as well. Mines a daily driver too although I only put 10 to 15 miles a day on it.

I've been driving with my KM2's for 50k miles. They are really loud, and don't perform well on wet or snow/ice. To be honest I wish I had gone with all terrains or maybe wranglers.

Mine are 255 85 16 i only run them in summer ,42-45 lbs they SUCK in snow but still get 20 mpg. They are like a 10speed bike tire ,less rolling resistance. Im on my 4th season prob 30k mi. they dont look new but lots of meat still. they are like a hopped up dually tire ,load range E so they ride stiff but im happy with them.

It never snows here, so no worries on that issue. I might try them out

I will say that when I was younger (10yrsago) I had a fully rebuilt 83 jeep cj7. I lifted it 4 inches and had 33x12.5 pro comp mt's on it and that thing was almost unstoppable in the snow. Not sure if todays mt's are different or if the jeeps shorter wheelbase had anything to do with it but 6" to 10" of white bull plop wouldn't even slow it down

Low and slow.. chopped up on 35s
I've ran my km2s into the dirt... Almost 80k on them... they get extremely loud after about 40k, and are almost dangerous in heavy rain at highway speeds. Also they tend to cup if they go slightly out of balance.. Loved them for offroad though.. So to answer your question.. You can dd them.. Everything is tolerable.. just depends if you feel like tire noise and the occasional hydroplane is worth the great characteristics offroad.. I did, and would run them again if I wasn't going to 315s, they're just too expensive for all that in a 35

i have had my 265/70/17 on for about 25K miles....they have done very good. mine have gone through all the elements. they still have more than enough tread left on them.

i do abuse them though. i spin them off of the line at red lights, I make them smoke when I am trying to climb on compacted dirt inclines, i take turns/corners like a maniac......still doing great

Most MTs are good in deep snow. Compacted snow, slush, ice and standing water (i.e. what you typically on pavement) cause problems for MTs that lack siping. KM2s have no siping.

Ram my KM2's for almost 40K miles(still had some tread left but I was tired of the slippery ride in the rain). I drive 108 miles a day, 4 days a week.......and I "would" buy them again.

Cool....I'm debating on the KM's or the Toyo MT's for my next set. I've heard the Toyo's last pretty long but are a heavier tire.

Oh...and be sure to rotate them every 5K miles.

Ive had my km2 for about 20k miles and I love them. 265 75 I go through some real tuff terrain like sharp lava rock here in Hawaii and i still have about 60% tread left and I dd them. Never let me down in any situation. climb things in 2wd where some people have trouble in 4wd. I prob will buy another set in a 285 75 next. Just be ready for some noise.

For daily driving, there are way better options out there for you. 20 years ago when I was in my 20's and looking for a "cool" looking tire that made me look like I went 4 wheeling I just might have purchased them. They are a great tire for that second vehicle that only goes 4 wheeling, not a daily driver, heck, they are too darn heavy period for a Tacoma to begin with.
