Pulled the clamps , removed the glue squeeze out and roughly planed the high spots off

Not the disaster I had feared yesterday

Behind my walnut cabinets I left a cryptic treasure map. If they remove those cabinets they are going to tear all the walls apart looking for hidden money that is not there. I also write random things inside walls and store fixtures I've built..

I havnt put a newspaper in anything in a couple years. Oldest I've found was the philly evening paper 1910 or so. Front page story was a kid eating a blasting cap..so the news hasn't changed much. And the help wanted section was split between men and women.

Behind my cabinets it says" if your reading this then I wasn't able to get it out of the house before they got me. Its hidden in the spot we talked about if the job went bad. Good luck I'm sorry."

One of the store owners I do a lot of work for ( a comic book store) had some fixtures built and I warned him if he sells them that there's a treasure map to his back yard hidden in each. And a high probability that there's a drawing of a penis, because well if you've ever been on a jobsite there's a dick draw somewhere.

dug out my side yard today. want to lay 3-4" of gravel on it. sounds like weed barrier materials are a joke, anyone have insight on this? was thinking 3/4 minus. i see there is also a 3/4 crushed w/ no fines vs one with fines. not sure what the difference is.

What do you mean by weed barrier materials are a joke?

I've got a question for the audience:

I'm getting ready to build a deck in my back yard (12'x16' on 1 level, then 1 step down to a 12'x6.5' lower level that meets the hot tub at a good height.

Question is... My town gave me a requirements sheet, and it says galvanized nails or bolts must be used for framing and hangers, deck screws are not to be used.

Wtf is that all about? What is a deck screw for if not for building a deck? I don't want to nail it together.

Called the inspector to ask him a few days ago, haven't heard back yet.

meaning that weed barriers only do their job for a season or two and then become a problem, whether an eye sore or weed entanglement making a very big problem. idk. never used the stuff before, never needed too. hoping for some advice from someone with 1st hand exp.

My only experience was putting it down under a paver patio to limit any weeds or other plants that may want to try to grow up through the cracks. I'm also planning in putting it down before I build my deck to try to limit any plant growth under there.

Never used it in a flower bed or anything.

Use a heavy filter fabric like is used in road building , that's what we use to protect drainage from getting infiltrated with silt and roots

Maybe they mean, if you use nails they must be galvanized. I would definitely use deck screws. I built a deck about 20 yrs ago, nails started "popping" 1st winter (sucks for snow removal) I removed all nails and replaced with screws in less than a year.

Nails and bolts for the framing of the deck. Not the top decking. You don't use deck screws on hangers and to attach yo the supports thrubolts are the way to go.
